iowagander - 2009-10-09 4:42 PM We were given a 4 day weekend, so I just spent my Friday morning golfing. Considering I hadn't swung a club for over 6 months, I'm VERY happy with the 90 I shot, which included a very nifty little chip-in for birdie from 30 yards on 17. Also, I walked the course for about 4 miles worth of walking. I guess that means I won't be running today, but I'll get some miles in tomorrow or Sunday.

Enjoy the 4 day weekend.  I'd be a lier if I said I wasn't a wee bit jealous.  I only got the clubs out twice this year.  It wasn't pretty and I definitely was not making any chip in birdies

It was only my second time out this year too. Funny thing - this was my second EVER chip in. Hey, sometimes it's better to be lucky than good!

Where do you like to play in Ames?

I used to play homewood a lot just because it was cheap.  I even had a season pass a few years ago.  I like the oaks a lot better though.  They put in a links course a few years back that I have only played once because its pricey. I still have never played Veekner though.

Your 11 miler will be great. Can you get a running bottle to put on your fuel belt?
Hope the post Mary run will be good
Way to go on the 18 miles
Kim, take care of that head. go to the dr if the dizziness doesn't go away.
Glad the grumpies are better..

Morning everyone.  Got a run in this morning.  Stopped a little short of plan as the knee started grumping around mile 5.  Decided to walk and cut out the last mile.  Am icing.  It does this from time to time. Needs an attitude adjustment.

Off to run errands.

I got tired of the stupid people day I was having and attempted to run. It was HOT 84 degrees. (sorry, I am not complaining but it was way hotter than my recent runs and with my icky lungs it just didn't work).

So, since it was a beautiful day and nothing else was going well... I grabbed my D"H (minds out of the gutter now!), and my mom and we drove to see the leaves. Full peak up at Mt Mitchell. It was our last chance with mom since I am driving her back to Fla this week and the weather is becoming icky this week.
