Champion 23360 Taser-World | Subject: RE: Wind Chill Warriors (Team 3) - January Challenge otter_sh - 2010-01-23 1:31 PM I do not want to quit on the team, I just need to adjust my goals for days missed. Original planned workouts for the month was 13 in each catagory. Goals were 9 run and bike and 7 swim. So I will need to adjust bike and run 1 for 1 for each workout I miss, and swim 1 for every 2 I miss. So if I do not get back I would be 8 of 9 in bike, 9 of 9 in run and 3 of 5 in swim. So sorry team I am not at 100% of goals. Dee, do I adjust now, or wait and see how long this thing takes to pass, because I do not want to artificially raise or lower our team score. I blanked out your "total" on the spreadsheet, but all of your information (goals, progress) is still listed. You can either adjust now, or wait until you're ready to go again. (I'll let you decide which to do.) If you want to adjust it now, you can just multiply your original goals by 71%. That will show your progress through yesterday. Edited by D001 2010-01-23 3:20 PM |

Elite 4201 washington state | Subject: RE: Wind Chill Warriors (Team 3) - January Challenge Got in my long run today (5 miles). 75% of my goals overall. Knee didn't bother me running. Still can't kneel on it very well but I don't need to do that to train! My calves are pretty tight, but I think that is from trying some barefoot running earlier this week. Let's Go, Warriors! |

My new goal is 50.3 miles. I'm not sure if I'll make it since I only run on specific days. I ran and swam today. Still not feeling good though. You are doing great for still being sick! Take care of yourself. |

So after I finished my final yesterday I did a swim, bike and core. Today it looks like a 90min run and prob a bike...its only about -5C outside...so not too bad for a run...i think its a bit breeze..oh well.. I'm currently compiling my run playlist! Have fun on your run and bike! That sounds cold to me! |

My calves are pretty tight, but I think that is from trying some barefoot running earlier this week. Let's Go, Warriors! I don't agree with that whole barefoot running thing at all! I think it is going to result in lots of injuries that could have been prevented by simply wearing shoes. A couple years ago, my husband and I went to Fiji and spent 10 days with native Fijians in their villages. The first thing we noticed was how strong their feet are! The go barefoot or with little flip flops all the time. They have decades of every day use on bare feet. All of us North Americans are never going to have feet as strong as that! All the barefoot running in the world is not going to overcome our soft lifestyle. I'll be keeping my shoes on. |

Elite 3913 far northern CA | Subject: RE: Wind Chill Warriors (Team 3) - January Challenge I'm STILL not feeling good! This stupid thing is just hanging on. I may or may not run today. It depends on how bad I'm coughing. Yesterday, we went to the first race of the year for our running club. My husband did the 10K in 46:42! And that was with a pit stop at the porta potty! He said he just couldn't hold it! Poor guy. I was talking to a gal at the race who is a nurse. She said that everyone with my symptoms has been testing positive for H1N1. Great. |

But I forgot to bring my running shoes to the Y. I walked and jogged a little on the treadmill to test my knee. Then my knee felt so good, but my hiking boots I was wearing felt so bad that I ran barefoot on the treadmill for a while. It was okay but probably nothing I would try outside. I know, I know, I should have just waited to run another day. Who would have thought that I would EVER be so eager to run? |

I'm nursing so I wouldn't take any medicine unless I was really, super sick. I think this is what baby had when he was sick a few weeks ago. |
