I totally want to come visit you and do a tri. I'm getting married here June 17 and the tri is June 26. ![]() ![]() ![]() Temptress. April won't work because I should be defend my dissertation. June on the other hand.... How much are flights to Bali? Cheapest roundtrip you can get from DC-LAX, then LAX-DPS-LAX is about $1000 that time of year. Might be able to do it for less if you book early, say March at the latest. I'll have to keep that in mind. ![]() |

That's a good idea. I just finished up a pair of socks but have three projects other projects that are in various stages of incompleteness. Maybe I should aim to finish at least one knit item BEFORE I get distracted and start some other new project. Speaking of distractions - my husband wants some knitted socks and I found a pattern book for kids toys that would be perfect for the cat, but it's crochet. Yesterday I started teaching myself crochet and attempted to start a toy... but need more work. I either have too much tension and it doesn't work or it's so loose that there are little holes... I found a pattern for Adam's socks finally (several hours later, needed to go online to get a pattern for size 13 mens), now I need to learn the 4 double ended needle technique. Oh, and finish that scarf for points. I refuse to knit socks for The Dude. That's just too many knits and purls to make a sock big enough to fit his big feet. He says it means I don't love him enough. I almost feel sorry for him. ![]() |

Are you knitting both socks at the same time? I hate to break it to ya, but it still takes just as long. You merely avoid second sock syndrome - you know - where you knit the first sock, immediately cast on for the second sock, get bored, move on to something else, and then are left with a sock orphan and a partially knit mate. |
