D001 - 2011-02-20 10:47 AM Mpfh. I'm giving up on February. Still can't breath without having coughing fits and wheezing. Plus, the pharmacy lost my inhaler prescription. This means I have to make another appointment with the doctor to get a new Rx. (Don't ask. I'm annoyed enough that I was ready to begin tasering everyone....) Eh well. Here's to March being a healthier month.

YIKES!  Shouldn't need a Dr visit when the pharmacy LOST the prescription!  They should be calling for a new prescription!!

Hope you feel better soon!
One would think. But the doctors' office has a policy that they "don't do prescriptions or refills by phone. The patient has to come in." I'm trying to figure out who to taser first, the doctors' office or the pharmacy. Eh, I'll just taser 'em both.

So now you (presumably) get to pay another copay for a visit just to get an rx for something they already gave you but the drugstore lost.  Lovely.  I'm irritated with copays this week...

Yeah, that makes no sense.  A lot of Dr offices here won't allow the phone in for refills BUT will allow a fax from the pharmacy, expecially if it's the pharmacy error in losing the prescription.

A couple weeks ago my pharmacy messed up and didn't give me a refill when I called (called for 2 meds and thought both were in the bag at the drive through, found out when I got home there was only med in the bag).  Called the drug store back and they gave me the med without the copay.  I just wanted to make sure it was filled and ready he recognized the inconvenience of my having to drive back there and comped the med for me.

Actually, the small mindedness of some pharmacies does not surprise me. When I broke my collarbone I needed meds that night for the pain. The ER doc sent me to the late night pharmacy and told me I needed to get them that night. Anyway, she was obviously tired and had dated it for the day after. The pharmacist refused to fill it, even though it was 10 minutes until midnight (they were closing at midnight) and also refused to even call the hospital and check with the doc.
Absolutely ridiculous! My hubby drove me home (still in my gorgeous hospital gown at this stage) and I drank several glasses of wine instead to knock me out until he could get the meds the next morning.

In that case I think I would have put patient Melissa away and broke out angry Melissa to unleash the wrath on that pharmacist.

Hey everyone.  I'm still sick but much better than I was this weekend.  Got very little sleep and had no appetite all weekend which has left me really tired but I'm feeling so much better.  I just got back to Clemson (went home for the weekend) and on Wednesday I leave for DC.  Hope everyone's having a good start to their week.

Yes, it's going to require another copay. I hadn't even thought about that yet.

Do you feel my joy? I'm recharging my *entire* Taser collection.

I whined to "spoke with" a coworker. She said that she's had the *same* problem with the pharmacy.

Did I mention that I'm recharging the Taser collection?

I made a terrible error doing my grocery shop at the weekend. Instead of buying shaved chicken for lunch I seem to have bought shaved chicken loaf - I suspect there is less than 5% chicken in it - its TERRIBLE!!!

Tomorrows lunch will include tuna and I won't be making the same mistake again!

I have totally earned my bonus point this week too.

I am starving and about an hour ago I was offered muffins, shortly followed by chocolate. Then, I went to the lunch room to get a coffee and there is a big plate of scones and jam up there. I am so hungry, I stood and stared at it for a while, then forced myself to get out of there asap!

Last week I put together a training plan to get me from now up to my race in June.  My plan started yesterday, and so far I'm 1 for 1!!  However, I decided to give myself a light week last week in preparation...  I think I took it a little too light.  Embarassed

Do any of you Crushers have any experience (or know someone who does) with surgery for carpal tunnel and the recovery time?  Specifically how long before one could bike and swim again...  I'm not so much worried about work recovery time.  Wink

That would be fantastic if you could, thank you!

Although I've tried some other things over the last few months, my carpal tunnel issues are just getting worse.  They recommend surgery, and at this point I'm pretty much for it.  I'm only 36 and I can't go through the rest of my life with a wrist like this...  that will most likely only get worse.  I'm supposed to find out tomorrow more about the surgery...  but would like to have some time frames in mind.  I have races and a fun summer to plan for!!

Morning All!

Exciting news for my morning, my Dad has ordered me a birthday gift and I am getting some new sunglasses for my bike, a new bike jersey (in red, yay, faster!), and some super super cute arm warmers from sugoi with hearts all over them. Now I can't wait for the winter here so I can wear them! That will get me out of bed on the cold dark mornings!

Not for another month but considering I didn't get anything last year or for Christmas, I decided to be pro active this year and send Dad my wish list from the website I use. It worked - woot woot!
My Mum will be coming out to stay a few days after the day so that will be great too as I haven't seen her since Christmas 2009.
