Expert ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() 30 minutes on trainer, single leg drills and high cadence drills. Really happy with bike fitness. I have been able to maintain MAF on bike, HR will drop 30 beats within a minute during recover. Miles ahead of last year at this time. Mitch S 2 / B 10 / R 10 Rest 3 Total 21 17:09:08 Scott- It was nice having dinner with you and your son last night. Good luck today and tomorrow, take home some meat. Expert ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Andy- Good luck at IMAZ. I will make a point to track you and catch your finish. I was successful with Gabe, failed with E so right now at 50%. Mitch- Cool chart, it is amazing how much training we have done. Joe- I got people in Philly, so yous guys better look out. Besides I have been practicing the crane move Ernesto- Since I spent the last two days in a 4'x8' box, I read "The Secret Race", what a good read. I am so Happy Lance can't compete in WTC triathlons. We don't need to have our sport dirtied by an A-hole like him. You know he had to be doping in the races he was in, how could he stop, that is what his career was based on. Coming from a major sports college in the 80's and being a football and baseball fan, I get why people at that level dope, there is just too much money involved. I have also become a fan of bike racing, knowing that most pro's still dope. I just hope triathlon is clean and keeping Lance out at least helps the image (at least in my eyes), in spite of his huge fan base. |

Expert ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Hey Andy, hope you are having a good relaxing day today Like Jim, I'm currently reading "The Secret Race" per E's recommendation. I'm not sure if I should thank him or not since I've been up really late for the last 3 nights with it. Today a 1 hr drainer workout and now getting last preparations ready as we will baptize Gabe Jr. in the afternoon! MitcLh S 2 / B 10 / R 10 Rest 3 Total 21 17:09:08 |

![]() | ![]() Getting back to running every other day (also will throw in some drainer rides and swimming when I can). 20 week Boston training program starts a week from Monday. Beautiful 5 mile run this morning. Weather perfect. 38 degrees and sunny. Calf still tight, but stretched and used foam roller afterward. Feels ok. Good luck Andy! |

Expert ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Relaxing in the hotel room, besides the chaos of the race, there's also an ASU football game here today, so it's a zoo downtown. Way too much noise, I can't even think strait over there. Got in a 20 minute bike ride this morning then maybe about 1000 yards at the practice swim, neither that can count towards my totals though. This time tomorrow I'll be ready to get off the bike! |

Way too much noise, I can't even think strait over there. Try to relax, put your legs up (pillows underneath) and just lounge like a lizzard. Tonight you're not sleeping much anyway...Got in a 20 minute bike ride this morning then maybe about 1000 yards at the practice swim, neither that can count towards my totals though. This time tomorrow I'll be ready to get off the bike! Tomorrow you will wake up unusually calm, trust me. Trust your training, you have put all of it timely and in disciplined fashion. Tomorrow you're just displaying your hard work, know that a lot of people out there are basing it on hopes, you'll be basing it on facts. Have a great race buddy. |

Master ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Today I rode with the group, played cat-mouse (I was the mouse on the front) and had a blast. Getting stronger on the bike than I dreamed possible, I take off sprinting at any given time and I feel "in the zone". Climbing hills like a goat too (although I look like a cow). Gabe, I know what baptisms are like in Latin Countries, be careful with the booze, haha! Mitch S 2 / B 10 / R 10 Rest 3 Total 21 17:09:08

Biked over to the Philly Marathon and watched the folks turnaround at mile 20 for the long slog home. Nice to be watching! Hung out for 40 mins or so, had some coffee - very enjoyable to root on others and chill. Andy is off the bike and was 2 seconds under 6 hrs. Hope to catch him cross the finish line.

Master ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() I have to say, I don't think I have ever seen anybody executing an Ironman so well. Andy is having perfectly equal splits all the way to mile 20.4 of the marathon. He's slowing down a bit but NOBODY does well in the last six miles of that beast. He is doing an amazing job and I bet he's loving to reel in people (he's probably been doing that for three hours now). I broke the chain in my cross race (one third into it). I have to say that CX is INTENSE! Tyler Hamilton says that pain comes in different flavors and I'll tell you that this pain tastes like habanero peppers. Brutal from the gun, drafting does nothing for you and mounting and dismounting the bike is a fine skill to be developed. I'm coming back for more of that pain. This coming week I'm going to Miami starting on Wednesday and not coming back until Monday Nov 26th, so no bike for me. After that though I am going to race CX until the season is over (January). Later in the day, I went for a run at the Katy Trail. Starting to feel normal after Ironman. Seeing some numbers that are indicating a good recovery.
