I will be doing the best form tackle on him on the swim start that you have ever seen. I could be scouted by the NFL. How fast a swimmer is he? This could determine if I will be drafting or simply attaching a line to him and let him drag me through the whole swim while I pummle him. He is a vD, he must have some swim talent. Then on the last 200 I can used my saved energy and sprint to the finish. evondo - 2010-06-21 12:19 PM Remember, its your job to make the other BvD's (my brother) life hell during that swim! I forgot about the running post, good call I'll take a look Not sure how fast he'll be honestly, he does have some swimming talent although he's never swam that far in his life until last week. Master 1318 Houston | Subject: RE: Evondo's Group - CLOSED! Yes, you should adjust for any fitness gain/loss throughout the season. Normally every 6-8 weeks is when I re-test zones. HR zones for running down here are pretty useless with the heat/humidity swings we have. It's better to re-test your zones in the current conditions and go with those until the weather/fitness changes. My only other recommendation is to get rid of one of the easy run in the beginning and build each run (3x/week) to 6mi. From there you can extend your long run further and start incorporating speed like you did. In the last 4-6 weeks (not including race week) incorporate a short 10-20' transition run every 1-2 weeks and get used to running off the bike. Before that you only really need a transition run every 3-4 weeks, if at all... Newtons1st - 2010-06-17 4:33 PM OK since I am still learning how to set up a running plan I am going to post up my running plans I have made out focusing on my OLY in OCT. Please give any critique you see fit, especially from our soon to be USAT coach/secret venture person on staff. So looking at the McMillian running calculator I get these times and added in my HR ranges. My run needs the most work and I need to have more define goals with each run.

Expert 1323 Rowlett, TX | Subject: RE: Evondo's Group - CLOSED! EvD - On the running above. Last year when I did a run plan you had advised that I do the 4x week run. Has this philosophy changed or are you more basing it off where I was ungodly slow then and just godly slow now? On the LR how much should I built it up to? Thanks for the help. As for your brother, I have been working on my tackling skills with this guy.

Master 1318 Houston | Subject: RE: Evondo's Group - CLOSED! LOL nice video You're semi-correct on why I said 4x then and 3x longer this time, not cause of speed but shape. You're in better shape now and can handle the longer workouts... LR range is normally 8-12 for an olympic, I think 8-9mi is about the right distance for you... When you start incorporating speed you'll have a better idea of what is right. If you can't hit your speed workouts with necessary energy you need to either slow down or shorten the long workout... Kim- I'm SO glad that your bike seems to be ok. That was very lucky. Now you can stress about the race instead. Emma- I have a hydration belt that I use whenever I run outside. It doesn't bother me at all, and I actually don't know how I would run in the FL heat without it. Dan- that is about the funniest darn finish that I think I've ever heard. Tell me that we have video, or at least audio? To all the kids racing this weekend- I don't envy that weather at ALL! Are you all excited anyway? |

Are you all excited anyway? I'll take the 'Y" Freedom Sprint vs. BSLT 70.3 (or Pacific Crest 70.3 for that matter) for 2010 - crazy tough. I was so amped up for my first super-sprint / Tejas family sprint relay and now the Bridgeland race that this weekend is sort of anti-climatic. I decided to stop screwing with my bike fit myself and get the Tri On the Run folks to dial the dang thing in this Friday. I was able to get from knee pain while riding pushed all the way back to knee pain the day after riding; but it's still does not belong. Let's hope they can rid me of the knee pain all together. Also hoping a different set of aero bars and more aggressive / better fit will help my bike splits. I am a bunch of months from a Tri bike. Good luck / have a drink for me (H2O) everyone doing any portion of 70.3 or even sprinting the short course like me this weekend! See ya out there Tiffany & Nikki! |

This kid is going to have near perfect weather for her race. So says the forecast. Although the one problem with that will be warming up after that 52 degree swim. I think I'll pack the arm warmers just in case. Run is going to be awesome though. There goes all those wasted hot weather training though. |
