You guys are some super busy manatees!  I've been a huge slacker for the month of July thus far.  In my defense, it has been over 100 degrees for weeks and we haven't had a drop of rain in 22 days.  The weighloss is kinda at a plateau as well.  I've lost 33 lbs and have been at that same place for a couple of weeks.  I'll find my mojo, just not sure where.

33 pounds? Sounds like you haven't lost any mojo at all! Very, very nice and keep it up! Even if you can't get out for workouts as much as you would like, I find that what you eat is MUCH more important.

Great job on the 33 lbs. That is quite an accomplishment! 100 degrees is quite a bit over the limits of comfortable. I think I'd start to melt.

Dang! Congrats! 33 is impressive! Yup, plateaus are normal. It usually just means your body is use to whatever you're doing and maybe you need to try something different. Enjoy what you are doing, though, or you won't keep at it.  Your mojo will return, maybe when the temps drop a bit...

Asalzwed - 2012-07-06 2:14 PM Sooo, what are all the non-racers doing this weekend? Big training?
Lots of running, trails on Sat, treadmill on Sun. Although Sun may become a swim, I dunno. Oh yeah, my shoe purchase ended up being Pearl Izumi iso transitions. Easy on and off, and they are comfortable as can be.

Oh yeah! I was going to ask you about that. Do you wear socks with em?

I've worn them once, with socks. I am on the fence about next Saturday's tri. I have ridden sockless in the past, and these shoes are sooo comfortable that a sockless 3 miles wouldn't be a big deal. So, it is feasible. However, I have "always" worn socks in the past.

As a general statement, I'll probably start going without socks in the next few months in these.

OK, I watch Tdf, Em is more of a hockey fan (seriously, treats are involved and she's learned to recognize the annoucer's voice and the horn and the Wrong Team command for horns in away games).  Anyway, Kevin will be back on Sunday.

Now THAT'S impressive!  And I thought my dog was cool cuz she gives out high fives when my team scores (she reacts to me yelling and throwing my arms in the air in victory).  The other one you need to ask for a high five, LOL.  Your dog totally rocks!

Right on, well, nice to know you can do either. Just make sure you get in a few test runs if you are going to do it in the race. I am sure you know that though.

33 lbs, yeah, girl!!  Nice work!  And I agree with the others, the heat often has a way of sapping ambition.  Have no fear, something will click to get you beyond your plateau and also get you re-invigorated.

Chris and Salty: trail running = yay!!!  My preferred place to run.

Janyne: that's a very full training weekend!  I love the Chicken Bridge ride name, heh heh heh!

Why is the wine at the bottom of this list? I think we need to have a chat about your priorities.

Ohh so you were in Costa Rica to shoot a wedding? I don't think I new that. Is that a full time thing? Sorry if you have said all of this before. I tend to miss things...

Good luck racers! I'm listening to Ultra Marathon Man, so I'll give you the advice Dean's cross country coach gave him -- "Go out strong, and finish stronger." (or something like that).

I'm kind of sad not to be racing this weekend. I think even my husband is a little bummed. We were making it a camping trip . . .  Oh, well. I keep mentioning to him about the weather, and then he backs off.

Speaking of which . . . The 90s in San Antonio have totally spoiled me. I went out this morning at 7:30 (90 minutes earlier than yesterday), and I still roasted in 85-90 degree temps. I'm going to try for earlier tomorrow morning. 103 here so far today.

So, I don't know what my weekend training plans are -- try to do some biking/running. I'm taking the little boys to the pool later this afternoon. We are going to roast.

Have you read Running on Empty by Marshall Ulrich? It's awesome. I got to run with him a while back, too. Very very cool dude.

Photography is a part time gig for me.  I have too many student loans to pay back and can't afford to do it full time as my only job.   (Shameless plug for my website: www.tracyolsonphoto.com)  (I'm also a pharmacist(but my DH is a firefighter/paramedic - I know, hot right?!  literally and figuratively!)
