That is based on my training plan and what it calls for. |

Veteran 286 Brisbane, Australia | Subject: RE: JFord Bradleyd3 2013 Spring Group- Closed HI all. Hope it's all going well. The rain here has been so crappy - basically haven't had a sunny day since January. It's not cold, just rainy all the damn time. Such a bleh for motivation. Anywho, meant to do 5.5 hours yesterday - made it 35mins before I flatted, and didn't have enough gas left in my CO2 canister, so I called a lift and went home. Motivation went down the toilet. Lol fail. Did 50mins of hard hill reps in the arvo though so at least I got something. That's the first of my long workouts I've missed, so I think I am still on track. I'll be setting a time goal as opposed to a km goal for each this month. I'll post soon. 2 weeks until my first Oly race of the year. A few years ago an Oly was my A race and I was thinking 'man that's a long way'. Now I'm just like yeah that's a shortish training day. Funny how your perspective changes. I'm gunning for under 2:30, but since I haven't been doing a lot of threshold work, it might be more like 2:35-2:40 depending on the weather. Don't mention the core challenge - I totally sucked. I did about 6 core workouts when I had planned 12. That's ok - just saving my energy to rip it up this month! AS someone mentioned earlier, the best way to go about it is by who gets the most percentage. Ie 90% of 10000m beats 75% of 20000m. Sounds like the rest of you are doing some great workouts, so keep it up! Oh and I borrowed a trainer from someone at work and some spinervals DVD's, so I'll be giving that a go over the next few weeks for something different to do. |

A few years ago an Oly was my A race and I was thinking 'man that's a long way'. Now I'm just like yeah that's a shortish training day. Funny how your perspective changes. Your quote is spot on. My A race this year is an Olympic (Mid-August) and I'm really nervous about it (First year of triathlons ever). Actually...only nervous about the swim. That's a REALLY long swim. 1500m. I'm hoping to feel the same as you in the next year or so. As for March Challenge....I REALLY need to work on the swim. I am going to stay totally focused on that and push myself to get 10000 yds. This will be a serious struggle for me as swimming is very difficult. This is the focus because my Olympic training plan starts in the beginning of April. A great way to lay down the swimming base for the 20 week training program!!! |

During the run I kept thinking there was no way I could do this again , but the ride wasn't bad, I think it actually loosened my legs up some. |

HERE! HERE! I second that, "great job". Love the way you created the opportunity to get on the bike. What is your "A" race? Full distance or 70.3? I ran 7 miles tonight and was thinking about similar comparisons myself. I kept saying, 'ok, run this pace, twice as far and after I swim and cycle for about 3 hours....' We all must be very optimistic people by nature Anyone ever see that line that goes something like, "God created the marathon to keep man from doing really stupid stuff....I bet he had a heart attack when man created the Ironman!" I think it was at the bottom of someone's post. funny I thought. |

Veteran 395 Henderson,NV | Subject: RE: JFord Bradleyd3 2013 Spring Group- Closed Hey Todd, My A race is Vine Man full in July, This will be my second attempt at a full Iron distance , last time I was undertrained on the bike, and came in a half hour after the cut off for the run, so now I am trying to be smarter about my training, and at least as important is learning to be smart about my nutrition. Are you doing a 70.3 ? which one? |

I think it is important to have a day here and there that is not scheduled to just relax and recover and fuel the fire, cause I know I will hate not doing anything and be ready to hit it tomorrow! |

I can completely relate to that. It's gets overwhelming sometimes with work, a family and all the training. I always forget that work and family usually end up being the equivalent of 3 training sessions per week at least. They just happen to be a 12 hour training session. I think it's more important to listen to our bodies, NOT our minds as those always betray us, for days off. Sometimes it's just necessary. BTW...I just noticed the Green star on my profile.....I'm so proud!!!! |

I only ran 30 miles last month so I'm not super confident even though its only six miles for the first run & 3 to end it. I personally hate saying that my goal is just to finish. So I won't. I always want to kick last years butt. Anyone else racing this weekend? |

New user 91 | Subject: RE: JFord Bradleyd3 2013 Spring Group- Closed Finally after waiting 8 weeks for various reasons I was able to get out on my new tri bike and ride. Braved the 22 mph winds for a nice 17 mile ride, good thing was only about 10 miles of that was into the wind. I was surprised that my ride was so slow though. Garmin had my speed at an average of 17 and the bike computer had me at 16.8. I was hoping for closer to 20 but that will come with time. The one thing I do know is that I need to get a new seat! I think that ride brought back my motivation and I am ready to get serious now this month. |

Oh I know this feeling all too well. Been there too many times. It sucks, I agree. The cold makes it worse, Im sure. So listen carefully................JUST DO IT!!!!! That. Is. All. Jump back in it, keep your nutrition clean (enough), and go do something that makes you sweat.

New user 37 OKC | Subject: RE: JFord Bradleyd3 2013 Spring Group- Closed I hear you about the motivation thing. Thankfully, I just had a 5k race yesterday morning and placed 4th overall (1st in AG). It really helped remotivate me to keep pushing and moving forward. Not quite sure how I got 4th with a 22:48, but hey... it's what I needed! Now if I could just get the weather to cooperate, things would be full throttle around here. |

New user 91 | Subject: RE: JFord Bradleyd3 2013 Spring Group- Closed Getting geared up for my next indoor Tri today. Nerves are getting to me because it is at my home gym, and it is put on by the Tri team here in town. Wish my training would have been a little more on point for this one, but life happens. Here are my goal times for today: 500m Swim: 9:30 6 mile stationary bike: under 18min 2 mile run: Under 21 min should put me in all just under 50 min and closer to that 45 min end of indoor season goal. |
