Pro 4742 Sarasota FL | Subject: RE: Evondo's Group - CLOSED! I like what Lance has done in terms of awareness for the sport of cycling. I would love it if he did well in the tour, but the competition this year is fierce. However, after yesterday's stage and all the drama there, I will be interested to see how it plays out this year. I KENOTT swim - 2010-07-04 8:58 PM roadrhino - 2010-07-02 7:40 PM Ok, I just had to share real quick about where I am staying this weekend...we're at the river house of one of the main directors of the Lance Armstrong Foundation...there's a little bit of TdF memorabilia here and it's pretty cool. Perfect timing too after Stage 1 of the 2010 TdF. Anybody think Lance has a chance? Being a geezer myself I have to pull for him. |

Payson, AZ | Subject: RE: Evondo's Group - CLOSED! Anyone else have this problem? I am like 100% more active then any of my friends (that I physically see) so I am debating with one of my friends about whether or not I should do my ride tonight or not. I switched my schedule up a bit this week due to the pool being closed yesterday, plus I had very little sleep so I am trying to decide if I am being lazy in trying to decide to ride tonight or not or if I am really as tired as I feel. It's affecting work as well as I have done nothing really all that productive today. But since my friends can't really wrap their heads around my workouts they are always rest, you need rest, your not lazy. ALWAYS. But no, sometimes am lazy and really need to talk my arse into heading out that door. My friends are useless in assisting me in pushing myself. It's not that they are not supportive, I have awesome supportive friends, it's just that they don't get it. That's why this group is so awesome. You all get it. |

A wise friend recently reminded me this is a hobby. When it rules your life you aren't looking at it clearly any longer. Compromise has to exist between training, work, friends / family and relaxation / recovery. This is supposed to be fun - it doesn't pay the bills for us. I think we all get carried away with training at times and most of us get caught up in life and blow training off for a bit. I think we all work towards the proper balance. Find friends that "get it". At least a few - it makes things easier. If you are sleepy, drink some caffeine and go ride! If you are worn out - rest /recover. just my 2 cents. |

Extreme Veteran 521 | Subject: RE: Evondo's Group - CLOSED! Typically me debating with myself to workout is more mental than physical. If I let my mental self win, then I let the excuses dictate that I will not work out...(tired, long day, travel, etc.). Fortunately, I don't let my mental self win very often...if at all. However, I do have to take a look and understand when it is a physical issue (injury, exhaustion, etc.). Very rarely is true exhaustion an issue...I know this based on HR, body temp, other signs of minor illness. In your case today, you have just come off a HIM. I had a very rough first week after the race and the second week post-race I had to ease back into training...so that might be a bit of what you are battling. IMO, get out there and do at least a little bit. If you're not feeling it after 10-15 minutes, head back to the house for some more rest (or ice cream). And good luck with your professional career. I'll be able to soon say "I knew her when...". bzgl40 - 2010-07-06 4:49 PM Anyone else have this problem? Pro 4742 Sarasota FL | Subject: RE: Evondo's Group - CLOSED! For what it's worth, I have this probablem at least once a week with my husband. His idea of a rough workout involves having to get up off the couch to get another beer, so when I gripe about not wanting to ride or run or whatever his go-to answer is always, "just skip it, you already did xxx this week." Like you, it's not that he's not supportive, it's just that he doesn't get it. Which is why I only gripe to him when I really do plan on skipping the work out. Then he's a good influence because he brings me wine. bzgl40 - 2010-07-06 5:49 PM Anyone else have this problem?
