Anyone considering a Jingle Bell run or other race this weekend? Tell us about it. If you're not racing, do you have a SBR goal to knock off the list before the New Year? or have you achieved everything you wanted to in 2012? I am looking for a Jingle Bell Run, have not found one yet. No goals for the next 2 weeks except for cherishing my family. My Dad is in the hospital in serious condition so I'm there everyday. One day at a time : )
Linda, I'm so sorry to hear about your father. I'll keep him and your family in my thoughts. |

If you're not racing, do you have a SBR goal to knock off the list before the New Year? or have you achieved everything you wanted to in 2012? While I can't say I achieved everything I wanted to in 2012, I have nothing left to do this year except enjoy friends and family time over the next couple of weeks. I officially kicked off my marathon training last week for a late March race. Looks like we're going to have quite a few people gearing up for some fun--me in March, Julia in April and Kyla and Trev in May! Anyone else? I think Chet said something about doing a few....maybe?
No racing for me this week. No real goals for the rest of the year, other than focus on swimming this month before getting back into marathon training in January. Kyla - are you signed up yet??? |

I'm sitting in Hong Kong airport writing this, what a dump! I was hoping to have a jog round the airport or on a treadmill but there's no leisure facilities just lots of shops and crowds! Anyway, my SBR goal is to keep fit whilst I'm away and slowly build my running up to a decent level by the time I get back to Australia in January. Next week I'm cycling all week in Spain! |

It's been a rough few months, but the service was amazing. I held up fine until the naval honor guard played taps and gave us the flag. My kiddos lost it earlier.....I don't think it was really.....real, until the service. They handled it beautifully - Beth spoke at the service, the boys were ushers. So many spoke about my Dad's smile, and his laugh - and I see it so much in my kids. Bittersweet moments. Big reception at our house after, over 100 people. Amazing: the lives my Dad touched, and the support of my, and my siblings', friends. Yeah, bad grammar, but y'all get it. Looking forward to Christmas......and Jeff's 50th. Heli-skiing!!!! If I can make it work - Trevor's got my back! May do a few little races on our way to IMLT in September. Vineman, HITS Napa - maybe RNR SF 13.1 - we'll see. Seriously cheering on the MG in Oakland, wearing Kevlar!!!

Are there certain races that are "qualifying" races. Seriously, the race they mention was a very small race and the weather sucked, and I raced the sprint distance. So, it didn't take much to finish well in my age group. There's no way I could compete at a big race.

I don't believe it's a mistake. If the race was a USAT race you have the chance to qualify by being in the Top10%. So are you coming to Milwaukee? It's in Dino's backyard! |
