I can't seem to find that info anywhere. I believe in previous years the bike course had aid stations roughly every 10 miles and every mile for the run course. Every mile on the run?? Seriously?? I could get used to that. Does anyone know if on the out and back run course, if there are people lined up the whole way? Or do most of the spectators tend to stick to the finish area? |

Expert 924 Louisville, KY | Subject: RE: Ironman Louisville : Official Thread I emailed the Ironman mothership asking about what drinks and gel would be available and received this response. "Thanks for your e-mail. The nutrition for the 2010 Ford Ironman is still to be determined. Please visit www.ironmanlouisville.com regularly for any updates. The information will also be posted in the 2010 Athlete Information Guide when in is published. Please don't hesitate with any additional questions or concerns in the meantime. Best of luck with your training!" I would have to guess that Gatorade Pro 2 Endurance is a fairly safe bet, but I guess it is still up in the air. |

Yep, that is what they told me to. However, I think they will go with regular gatorade. My reason, the IM in Utah just used regular old gatorade and since Pro 2 is more expensive I would guess we will get regular gatorade."Thanks for your e-mail. 32 | Subject: RE: Ironman Louisville : Official Thread Does anyone know why they won't be having on-site registration for IML 2011? I was at IML 2009 as a volunteer to do on-site registration. The attendance was about 30-40 (day after the race) and I recall the organizers talking about the city having an agreement to host it through 2011. Has anyone heard if the IML will continue past that time? |

Member 63 | Subject: RE: Ironman Louisville : Official Thread I wanted to drop into this thread and say hi. I have yet to do even my first sprint triathlon (August of this year), but I'm entering triathlons with the goal of doing IMKY in the future. You can check out this thread as to why. I figured that reading as others prepare for the race will give me lots of benefits, and also keep me on track and motivated to train for my own triathlons. Anyway, I just wanted to say that I'll be watching this thread pretty closely and will be cheering everyone on. I may even sign up to be a volunteer at the race this year. I haven't decided yet, but I imagine that some of the volunteer opportunities could help me learn a lot about the world of IM. |

Champion 5575 Butler | Subject: RE: Ironman Louisville : Official Thread Mid way for me and I feel undertrained but am doing what my plan calls for so I will be fine I am sure. Not sure I am getting the miles I hoped for. I am riding slower than I normally do but most of that seems to be because my plan is calling for "easy" days.

Will be a little over on the bike and cut it close on the run. Swim is little behind, but will increase a bit over the next 2 weeks. This has been my biggest week of training so far (and ever) and I am definitely feeling it, but I am also extremely confident that sticking with the plan will bring success August 29th |

Master 2151 Johns Creek, Georgia | Subject: RE: Ironman Louisville : Official Thread karen26.2 - 2010-05-01 2:53 PM I like this challenge! Here's what I have planned for May - Monthly totals: S: 36000.00 Yd - 12h 00m B: 475.00 Mi - 30h 45m R: 105.00 Mi - 19h 30m
Swim is a tad light but I'm good on run & bike (thanks to Mrs. Brown Dog). And to say I am tired would be a huge understatement. But, I'm 1/2 way through my plan today which is kind of a cool feeling. |

I feel good about my bike miles and should have no trouble exceeding 600 miles. I had made a conservative estimate for my runs b/c I was dealing with the beginning of an IT band injury. I'm pretty sure that all is well and expect at least 85 total run miles by the end of the month. The swim total is pathetic and needs to be addressed. |

Hey guys as soon as yall see something or hear something let us know. Check out the post where I compared GE, GPro and just regular G. in the Iron training distance thread. No difference b/w Pro and GE and just the lack of sodium for G. |

Expert 924 Louisville, KY | Subject: RE: Ironman Louisville : Official Thread I'm definitely behind too. Long story short is that I've been battling a knee issue for about 8 months. It popped up 1 week after I committed to this year's IM Louisville. Go figure. So my running has been on again, off again, but I think I finally have to the right PT formula to stay on top of, but I'm basically starting my running from scratch, as I am my swimming.

Member 52 Martinez GA | Subject: RE: Ironman Louisville : Official Thread Running is a bit behind in my opinion but this is my first ironman so I could be wrong - long runs are only at 8 miles right now!!! I've been having calf issues ever since I signed up in Jan and my running is on and off - thankfully PT is letting me now run 2 times a week. It has really given me the chance though to work on my bike and well my swim as much as I don't like the swim I finally feel stronger in the water. my aprils totals: Swam about 11 miles Biked 339.5 Ran 45.6 I'm up to 5 hrs on the bike but have had three bad long rides in a row :/ I hit a wall this past weekend that I have never hit before and I thought the one I hit a couple weeks ago was bad. Took every bit of energy I had to finish and I sooooo wanted to quite but I pushed and somehow finished! My coach is giving me a light week this week to recover a little before hitting hard since I'm ahead of schedule. Even though I feel like I've falling behing with the way I've been feeling. Mays totals so far: Bike: 280.73 run: 26.19 swim: 3500 yrds May goals are Bike: 400 miles run: 30 miles swim: 8000 yrds On a side note - Anyone in the Jacksonville FL area? I'll be down memorial day weekend and looking for a training partner to run and bike with - not familiar with the area. Just a warning I'm a bit slow right now :/ Edited by Sporty_Girl585 2010-05-17 8:31 PM |

I hope to make it up at least once this summer to ride part of the course!!! |
