ceilidh - 2010-01-26 12:31 PM Got a bike in. I have a cold and it didn't hurt too bad but it is hard to not breathe and ride. Even on a trainer.

I'm STILL not feeling good!  This stupid thing is just hanging on.  I may or may not run today.  It depends on how bad I'm coughing.

Yesterday, we went to the first race of the year for our running club.  My husband did the 10K in 46:42!  And that was with a pit stop at the porta potty!  He said he just couldn't hold it!  Poor guy.

I was talking to a gal at the race who is a nurse.  She said that everyone with my symptoms has been testing positive for H1N1.  Great.

Bummer.    Rest.

Hello!  I'm recovering from viral labyrinthitis.  If you know what that is, then you know that I've spent several days flat in bed with my head spinning (severe, inner ear infection), and now may take days/weeks to fully recover.

I feel terrible, because my goals are shot

What should I do in this case?  Probably withdraw from the challenge/team?  Looks like a lot of folks have done that already.  But otherwise, my numbers will suck!

Ask Dee and you can readjust your goals. I am sorry. That is a terrible feeling.

Got a 13 mile spin on the bike today.  One more swim, bike and run and I should meet all my goals...

It's too bad to hear about all the sickness and injuries with team mates.  Only consolation: better now than during race season.  Hopefully you'll all have time to heal.

Take it easy!

Two choices:

1) Withdraw from the challenge, which is what some people have done.

OR

2) Revise your goals to reflect what you'd done up until you became ill. For example, if you'd worked out for 14 days before getting sick:
(original goal) x (14 days that you worked out) / (31 days in January) = revised goals

Hope you're feeling better soon! (I haven't had viral labyrinthitis, but I've dealt with a lot of vertigo - and it's miserable.)

I revised my running goal again.  Dee suggested I revise based on the running workouts that I missed due to being sick since I run on specific days.  My new goal is 44 miles.

Morning team! This sucks with everyone getting sick or injured, This is suppose to be fun! But as Sal said at least it is not the race season. Rest those bodies everyone.

As for me I had a great run yesterday! Met some peeps at the Pettit and ran 24 laps in about an hour...didn't have my watch or my HR monitor on so it is a guess based on when I got there and actually started running. Dave thinks it is about 6.6 miles. I feel great even though my longest run has only been 3 mile latley...I know about the 10% rule but was really feeling good out there! I could have kept going but the plan called for an hour.  I will keep it at this distance for a bit and then follow the rule!

I will get over 100% for my swim today, will hit 100% for core/stretch today. Will do my last bike tomorrow and get another run in.  I will make at least 100% for all my goals, some i should get over...come on peeps let's push through to the end....for those that are at 100% can you get over to make up for those that got sick or injured...that's what teams do!  GO WARRIORS!!

Great run and fantastic for getting to, or bettering all your goals. As long as I get rid of that extra 2 pounds (it is looking good for that) I will get 100% for all my goals. Maybe an extra run if the weather holds out this weekend.

All you Warriors that are battling infirmities. Hang on, take care, and heal up. The season is coming fast.

Hello Warriors,  my swim today will put two of my goals at 100%  The other two will finish up tomorrow and Saturday.  If work (and my body) cooperates, I will possibly get to go over on some of the goals!

LET'S GO, WIND CHILL WARRIORS!!!
