Master 1887 Brentwood, CA | Subject: RE: The Epiphanies (Team 2) - January Challenge I got a couple small trainer rides in the last couple of days. I've been taking it easy; I'm still not feeling 100 percent. I have my doctor's appointment in the morning. Hopefully, I will get encouraging news. I'm just so frustrated right now. I'm really worried about my upcoming marathon. Either way, I will be hitting the pool hard over the next four days. I will try to make up for my lack of running there! I can hear it already; I know, I know, its just a challenge! But I'm going to do whatever I can for the remainder of the month. |

Master 4119 Toronto | Subject: RE: The Epiphanies (Team 2) - January Challenge Thanks D! Wasn't sure. Just wanted to put it there to the group since we seem to be in a bit of a leadership vacuum. Maybe a few of can go over it on the weekend and see if we come up with the same thoughts and then do the PM work |

Please do not smite me oh goddess of the taser! Hm. Should I assume that you're being sarcastic, and tase you for it? Or shall I assume that you're finally acknowledging the power and awesomeness of the taser-cult? Hm. Decisions, decisions.... Ah well. In either case, this solution should work: Actually, it was more of the latter but I can see how you might think it was me being sarcastic due to our mentor group time together. How about we both just agree that it was a little bit of both then? I must admit that I am greatly disappointed that I didn't get hit with one of your more outlandish tasers though... |

Expert 1163 | Subject: RE: The Epiphanies (Team 2) - January Challenge Oh, and I got in my tempo run and a yoga class last night, so I'm right on track with my run goal and completed my yoga goal! Hurrah! I was going to get up early this morning to lift, but I didn't get to bed until 1am last night (I'm a night owl!) so the early morning session was definitely not going to happen. I'll try to make up for it by lifting on Sunday. |

Got in a trainer ride this morning, have been feeling a bit under the weather since last night, so I just stayed in a did an easy ride. Right now my concern is staying healthy for my marathon so more rest is good for now. Tomorrow if all goes well is another long run. Cheers! |

Master 1887 Brentwood, CA | Subject: RE: The Epiphanies (Team 2) - January Challenge Had my appointment this morning. In kind words, the doctor pretty much told me that my body is a tight, asymmetrical mess! ART felt pretty good. We then went over some esoteric myofascial release techniques and stretching homework. Plan on continuing the treatment and next week she wants to do Gastron. Primary targets are the hip flexors and ITB. Off to the pool this afternoon. |

Yeah, but you LIKE getting taser-taps. Therefore, I obviously need to go down a different route. So no leopard prints for you. :P |

And her last recorded workout was more than 2 weeks ago. So I've removed her numbers from the spreadsheet. If she shows up again, we can add her back in. Any other missing team members? |

I've been reading the author's blog for a couple months. I like his style. GoGoGo - 2010-01-22 2:12 PM brick94513 - 2010-01-22 4:00 PM next week she wants to do Gastron. Master 1841 Sendai, Japan | Subject: RE: The Epiphanies (Team 2) - January Challenge If your problems are with ITBS, you may also want to read the ITBS article. Of course, the author is trying to sell his tutorial on ITBS and there are advertisements interspersed throughout the article. FYI: I've just recently started experiencing pains on the outside of my knees (ITBS area) and trying to work through it with what I know of trigger points (hit the TFL, gluteus minimus, vastus lateralis). I may end up buying his tutorial anyways because I'm intrigued by the article. I like his bear story too. http://saveyourself.ca/tutorials/iliotibial-band-syndrome.php Edited by dcon 2010-01-22 8:13 PM |

Master 1887 Brentwood, CA | Subject: RE: The Epiphanies (Team 2) - January Challenge Dan, I can't thank you enough for the information. I'm going to continue to research this topic and hopefully make an informed decision. I thought this practioner did a good job with ART. Not to mention, she came highly recommended to me for sports medicine. But, I'm having serious doubts about Gastron. I had never heard about it before today. What an eye opener. As for the origin of my pain, there is not a definitive answer. It apprears to be a combination of piriformis syndrome, ITBS, and tight hip flexors. |
