Erin, 20lbs since Jan 1st is FANTASTIC!!!  Congrats!!

So, all in all, a good week, but I now have to average over 3 miles / day for the rest of the year.  No doubt, need to get into the 10-12 mi long run + 6-8 mi supporting run workouts again, rather than a 7 mile long workout.  At least the weather is finally cooperating!  Goal for this week is just to try to put together another 20ish mile week which will make 2 in a row.  But schedule for the week will be challenging...

Enjoying the group support here though!

Stu

Speed - awesome job on breaking a 30 min 5k! I'm hoping to join you in that shortly.

All - thanks for the encouragement and support. I'm sure I probably would not have gotten back on the wagon if it was not for all you being here. And that infernal bunny! Laughing I just got my paycheck for the last two weeks of March. 125 hours in two weeks. All of it on my feet waiting tables. I really wish I could count my miles I put on at work! I've almost done as many miles this month as I did last so I've got some ground to make up. But a month from now I will be back in Colorado and out of 0F temperatures! And I did take before pictures - I just wasn't expecting to actually need them up here. I eat in a truck stop 3x a day and haven't seen fresh fruit in 6 months. But something is working - and I'm not complaining! My dad flew up to visit me for a week so he brought some oranges - and I must say I'm enjoying them. Well, off to work - I'll chase the bunny down some more tomorrow. And I have my first race I'm preparing for - there is a 5k in Fairbanks the week I'm leaving so I'll be checking that out. And then BolderBoulder with the family Memorial Day.

Have fun and chase the bunny!

I think I finally got it down!

After early year shin splints, a gradual progression back, some trial and error with insoles to help with said shin splints and fifth met pain. I think I finally found a combo to correct this.

Having an anteriorly rotated right innominate which gives me a 1/4" leg length discrepency and bilateral fifth met fractures (each are several years old, and not enough time to go NWB for surgery), and bone spur removal on left ankle 2 years ago. o, and terrible dorsi flexion and supination. I'm a biomechanical nightmare.....

I decided to mix and match the insoles, my custom orthotics weren't doing it. I put a small heal lift and a cushion-y running insole in the right shoe and went with the factory insole only in the left. The height on the right afforded me the extra fraction of a second to get my left foot to pronate with gait, which kept me off the fifth met and transition to the first ray for better toe off.

Sorry for the drawn out post, but maybe this might help someone with similar pathologies or give someone the idea to mix up their insoles for further pain relief.

Now, to catch this damn rabbit.

Yeah, he told me he was just getting warmed up, then he taunted "I can go at this pace all year"

I've been quite absent lately. My logs definitely reflect this though it doesn't reflect how much I've been training. New challenge with myself: Don't count any of the miles I haven't logged but still break 1000!

That could be very impressive

A crazy work schedule has kept me from catching up to that silly rabbit.  I am however .1 mile shy of 210 as of last night.  Had I know before I finished my run, I would have done the extra .1 miles.  lol

I'll be over 215 by Monday.  I'd like to be knocking on 300's door before May.  Only time will tell.

Well poop. I have a tumor in my spinal cord and it needs some major surgery. Might be out of work 6 weeks, but Doc says he is going to have me back on my feet ASAP. Who knows when I'll be back to running. I'm sort of saying I'm out.

.... but there is a little part of me that wants to see how close I can come.... If I run every day till surgery.... Wink

Doc says he will have me walking like 10 minutes 4 times a day as soon as I get home... I can count walking right?

At least I would not get in too deep of a hole.

Hey, it's your challenge - it counts if you want it to (If I was in your position - I definitely would - besides - Dr's orders right)

Stay positive, keep the body healthy and strong so you can recover quickly.

Will be praying for you from the north!

HEY!!  Could someone PLEASE trip that damned rabbit?!?

I'm struggling here.  I'm over 70 miles behind right now, thanks to my job.  No matter; I will keep pushing and trying to get to 1K miles before I retire from Naval service!

Speed, I agree with you on the damn rabbit.  I created that thing; can I take it out of this world?

I'm trying to safely do "rabbit distance" 3 or 4 times a week and then gradually increase.  I'm still behind but I'm beginning to think I can get that damn thing.
