Subject: RE: 1 year, 1000 milesI think I finally got it down! After early year shin splints, a gradual progression back, some trial and error with insoles to help with said shin splints and fifth met pain. I think I finally found a combo to correct this. Having an anteriorly rotated right innominate which gives me a 1/4" leg length discrepency and bilateral fifth met fractures (each are several years old, and not enough time to go NWB for surgery), and bone spur removal on left ankle 2 years ago. o, and terrible dorsi flexion and supination. I'm a biomechanical nightmare..... I decided to mix and match the insoles, my custom orthotics weren't doing it. I put a small heal lift and a cushion-y running insole in the right shoe and went with the factory insole only in the left. The height on the right afforded me the extra fraction of a second to get my left foot to pronate with gait, which kept me off the fifth met and transition to the first ray for better toe off. Sorry for the drawn out post, but maybe this might help someone with similar pathologies or give someone the idea to mix up their insoles for further pain relief. Now, to catch this damn rabbit. |
