Veteran![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() I don't think that many people hate Lebron James. I do think a lot of people don't repect his decision in regards to the type of player he said he wanted to be. |

Champion ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() [/QUOTE I agree, he does, but no one in the league attacks the basket more than him. Like in every profession you build a reputation and you get the benefit of the doubt, has always been like that. Dirk also gets the same calls, the guy just shot 24 free throws in one game, lot of teams don’t even shoot that collectively. Can't of like the 06 finals, where D wade got 20 Ft a game and the mavs team shot 18 If you don’t like Miami, that’s fine, most people don’t, but those argument don’t hold any weigth. I didn’t miss it, he flopped like a soccer player, and he knew it, he winked at his coach. Are you gonna tell me he is the only one that does it? That’s super prevalent in this league. Players sale the charge, and the blocking fouls like there is no tomorrow. But to say that Miami has an advantage because of that is crazy talk. that kind of contradicts yourself..
I still go with my prediction that it will be decided at the charity stripe. If Miami shoots over 30 Ft a game they will win. If they shoot closer to the team avg of 15. they won't. And I'm not saying the refs favor them, just that will mean they are driving which they do best. When Miami settles for jump shots they are beatable. |

Those who hate LBJ better hope that he doesnt win it this year, otherwise the Haters will have a few years of torture. I wouldn't call myself a LeBron hater but since you stirred my biggest frustration with the sport. I'm a Warriors fan so as long as the Lakers don't win it I'm fine with whoever. It is, more than stupid. Just because he decided to go and play with his buddies. While what he did was not wrong, it gutted 2 teams in the process. The NBA put a max salary in that the player can only sign a max salary with his original team to keep franchise players and balance in the league. However agents and players have gotten around this by basically telling a team they are leaving, so and are better off signing and trading me to get something in return. What they get in return pales to what they give up. Owners trade players and make decisions that affect players life all the time, but when the players do it is a sacrilege, thats hypocrisy at his best. Owners do so with the best interests of their fans (usually), players do so with their own interests. If the players had their way, everyone would either play in Chicago,Miami, Boston, LA, or NY. Its awesome if you are a fan of that team (which 80% of the fanbase is) but if you follow any of the other teams its frustrating. Player collusion happens in all sports but in basketball it actually makes a difference. In other sports you lose a top guy and the compensation and money lost are sometimes the better option. In basketball, the difference between the franchise guys and the average player is very large gap. Basically, if you don't have a franchise guy, you will not win a championship. Utah, Denver, Toronto, Phoenix, and Cleveland lost their stars to big markets, and its not even a matter of if Chris Paul or Dwight Howard are staying its where. What's going to happen is in the next 2 years you'll have 75% of the talent consolidated to 5 teams. I'm a huge College Basketball fan and I can tell you there is no talent coming out to replace these guys either. Maybe one.

Master ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() According to Colin Cowherd, Derrick Rose only shot 8% from the field when LeBron was guarding him. If he's half as effective shutting down Dirk it won't be a series. Although I think Dirk is a much different player. |

wow that is pretty impressive.. I'm not sure how it will play out.. I would think they would have Bosh start on Dirk, and bring Lebron for the double. which would make a great double team. Or they might decide to play him straight up.. Size plays into it though. Rose is 6'? giving up quite a few inches on lebron, while dirk is taller than lebron.. Either way I"m excited |

We already spoke in regards to this once but here i go again. LBJ, Wad, and BOsh didnt sign a max salary contract, they took somewhat less money to be able to put a team around them, and actually is not that NBA doesnt allow other teams to offer a max salary but allows the home team the opportunity to offer a few million dollars more. Miami didnt need Toronto or Cleveland to agree to anything, it was just benefitial to them because they got draft picks instead of nothing and miami gained a little more flexibility with their cap instead of just signing them like free agents. So it is ok for owner to do it for the best interest of the '"fans" which is not, they do it for their pocket books, but it is wrong for the players to do it for their own good? Do owners worry about the players when they trade them when they are not productive? COme on you have to see the hypocricy there. In those teams that you mentioned, except NY for a while, you know what they had in common? A competent front office. The Warriors wouldnt be so bad if they would put one into place. Once again, you are using the term player collusion incorrectly. Player collusion is when you establish negotions with a player under contract therefore doing something illegal. You can sure win without a franchise player, look at the pistons in 2005, i think thats the year if im not mistaken. Basketball has always been that way, and it will continue to be. The league is actually more appealing when there are clear favorites ando ther teams are going after them. You mentioned college basketball, and it is actually the same thing with it. Only a handful of teams have a real chance of winning a championship.

Rose is 6'? giving up quite a few inches on lebron, while dirk is taller than lebron.. Either way I"m excited Bosh won't spend time covering Dirk. That will fall to Haslem (see 2006) and Anthony, with Miller that is a 6'9 SF taking his turn as well. Come crunch time it would be LBJ, 3 inches shorter but with a vertical jump that would make them even. LBJ had 5 inches on Rose, but that was actually not the scary thing. LBJ is taller, almost 100 pounds on him, just as fast, and doesnt go for the fakes, thats why rose couldnt do much. It will be exciting, thats for sure. And if the Heat has to loose, im glad it would be against Dallas, I really like Dirk as a player and i like how Cuban takes care of his guys. |

I was the same way after they lied and moved the Sonics. I'm slowly coming back to basketball, but if there is another lockout, I might leave again. |

Pro ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() I'm not really an NBA fan either but this finals has gotten me interested. Not sure who will win but I know both of the best players on each team don't have a ring, so I know it's going to be a good series. I voted heat just because no one seems to like lebron and the other team beat the lakers. |

Elite ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() I'll be happy either way. I'll be happy for Dirk, Kidd, and Cuban if the Mavs win...and happy for King James and Bosh if they win. I don't watch a lot of NBA during the ridiculously long season, but this looks like a compelling matchup. The Heat have to be considered solid favorites to win this series. The conspiracy theorist side of me will be interested to see if the refs favor the Heat. |

It seems like it just took some time for the Heat to gel. Don't get me wrong, the Mavs are very good, but it seems to me the favorite would have to be Miami.

You are correct sir, regular season is irrelevant specially when it comes to Miami, it took most ot the season for them to learn to play together, plus two integral members of the rotation where out, Miller and Haslem who plays Dirk very well (rewind to 2006). Another example look at SA, second best record in the league, and where beat up by a number 8 seed. In regards to the calls, Miami will always shoot more FT than Dallas. The Mavs are mainly a jump shooting team, while Miami attacks the basket a lot more. The two games in Miami will be very important, if Dallas wins 1 then their chances of winning the series improve. If they loose both, in my opinion they are done. They would go back to Dallas to play 3 games and Dallas would have to win them all not to go back to Miami for the final two games down in the series, and is next to impossible for Dallas to beat Miami 3 games in a row. |
