newbz - 2009-08-21 7:53 PM ... the other, she is the floater, always wonder is she is still alive (no joke takes a good 5-6 min to get down the pool one way).
Not to hijack, but... are you swimming at my pool?
There's a gal that is there during master's classes in the morning
(5:30am or so
). She's not taking part in the drills, but she goes up and down lane 1 in full mask and snorkel. She never lifts her head. Ever. I've been resting after a drill and hear coughing or some other sound. It's her, through the snorkel. Weird. And YES, honestly 5-6 minutes to go 25m!
Still, I gotta give her credit. She's there. That's step 1.

I guess her slightly better swimming sister is at my pool...an older lady there has the most bizarre stroke I have seen....she literally looks like she is crawling on top of the water. She is the most buoyant person I have ever seen. The back of her head, her shoulders, her back, her butt, and the back sides of her legs are all visible...all the time! As her left arm comes around
(not over and reaching, but it arcs laterally
) her right knee bends to about 45 degrees, almost like a frog leg. As her arm comes back around to pull, the leg straightens out, and the opposite arm and leg move to the original position I described. She lifts her head straight up to breathe every few seconds. I counted 57 strokes in just under 3 minutes to go one 25yd length. But as you said, step one is.... she is there doing it......
