newbz - 2009-08-21 7:53 PM ... the other, she is the floater, always wonder is she is still alive (no joke takes a good 5-6 min to get down the pool one way).
Not to hijack, but... are you swimming at my pool?

There's a gal that is there during master's classes in the morning (5:30am or so).  She's not taking part in the drills, but she goes up and down lane 1 in full mask and snorkel.  She never lifts her head.  Ever.  I've been resting after a drill and hear coughing or some other sound.  It's her, through the snorkel.  Weird.  And YES, honestly 5-6 minutes to go 25m!

Still, I gotta give her credit.  She's there.  That's step 1.

I guess her slightly better swimming sister is at my pool...an older lady there has the most bizarre stroke I have seen....she literally looks like she is crawling on top of the water. She is the most buoyant person I have ever seen. The back of her head, her shoulders, her back, her butt, and the back sides of her legs are all visible...all the time! As her left arm comes around (not over and reaching, but it arcs laterally) her right knee bends to about 45 degrees, almost like a frog leg. As her arm comes back around to pull, the leg straightens out, and the opposite arm and leg move to the original position I described. She lifts her head straight up to breathe every few seconds. I counted 57 strokes in just under 3 minutes to go one 25yd length. But as you said, step one is.... she is there doing it......

I can only dream of pace booty at my pool.  All it has is old ladies rehabing and if you take their lane when they are walking they will kick you a^^.

Wait, that's not pace booty?

jellyman - 2009-08-21 8:06 PM The lap tank is quite deep where I train, and when they rope some lanes off for a fun swim I often see boneheads from the fun swim cruising in the deep water right underneath all the lap booty just looking up. Their gonna ruin it for everybody! Of course the serious triathlete would never revert to such an obvious tactic!!

Is that what those rec swimmers were doing during my swim on Monday?!?

I can't stand the speedo.  It was made for someone who either has no butt or no junk.. It's not the right banana hammock for the man with both.

I have only once had some incredible pace booty at my pool.  This girl was incredible.  At one point she was putting her leg up out of the pool and leaning forward to stretch, instantly making her one piece ride up to nearly thong land.  Another time, she had both legs up over the edge of the pool and was doing sit-ups under water and coming up high enough to take a breath.

I was breathing to one side that day and I think she pretty much knew it.

gopennstate - 2009-08-21 8:57 PM we chicas enjoy some good pace booty in a drag suit too.  jammers just don't cut it.

Mmmmm, I don't know, I've seen some awfully nice jammer-clad booty...

Benefits of swimming at a college pool: college (or at least, college-aged) swimmers, most of whom are reasonably serious. Male and female.

Downside to swimming at a college pool: retired or should-be-retired profs...tighty-whities...male and female...*shudder*
