Opus - 2006-01-13 2:55 PM You know, this thread would have been a lot more controversial had it been called "Beer and Choice".

Oh yeah, Smithwicks, that's good. I stayed in a hostel right next to the brewery in Kilkenny.

I'd also like to give an honorable mention to Speights and Red Hook IPA.

XXXX?? Really? I'm sure you know why they drink XXXX in Queensland?

This thread is cruel and unusual punishment to someone who found out last September he can no longer drink beer.

I'll go drown my sorrows in a bottle of Captain.  Pass the limes!

How can you argue against the old "Red White & Blue" beer, or Gablingers...or the generic stuff in the cans that just said "Beer." About $1.99 per 30 pack. Matt's Beer, out of upstate New York was great! As was Black Label in the GIQ.

I had a customer at our shop a number of years ago who came over from Germany. After he had been here a month or so, I asked him if had tasted any American beers. I figured h'e turn up his nose at them all in favor of some exotic stuff from the Black Forest. But he said he fell in love with Narragansett.

There's no accounting for taste.

Newcastle, The owner of my local Pub, an Irishman told me that in the UK this is an "oldmans" beer.

Chemay with a steak
Oatmeal stout with chocolate cake
Pyramid IPA as an everyday beer
any Mexican beer after a hot day mowing the lawn
The porter I made last summer, 3 cases that lasted all of two weekends.
