Thanks, not as often as I used to.... I got into swimming to get in better shape for diving, then into riding, then into tris, and as a result dive a LOT less often than I used to.  I've turned into a once a year vacation diver

Yea-same thing happened to my dad minus the tri's, he just doesn't have the time he used too and whenever i call him to check in he is usually complaining about that.
I mean he does local dives (in MASS) during the year whenever he can, but as far as longer trips-very rare.

Ill keep checkin in on the page-seriously-amazing pics. thanks for sharing!!

I hate when people use the "your more likely to get killed driving to the ocean than getting bitter by a shark"!! Hello!  If 150 million people swam in the ocean all the time then i'm sure there would be a lot more attacks.  If you take the amount of attacks divided by the number of swimmers in a year and did the same for the number of drivers....You might be surprised!! Lol I still feel safer in the water than the highway.

the stat at the bottom of this article makes me feel reassured.  194 deaths off australia from sharks in the last 2 centuries~  I don't care what number of people are swimming etc. thats a super low number compared to the number of people who would have died even in the last year from car accidents.

here's the article unfortunately another guy was attacked by a shark at bondi yesterday.

So, what is it?

Even actuaries, that look at incidents in relation to exposure find the risk of shark attacks lower than getting struck by lightning... by far

And yes, it is an indication of way too much time on my hands

The Bondi attack actually seemed a bit more scary... It was only about 50m from the shore... while it was the first in 80 years at the beach they also got through the shark net... which happens from time to time

Apparently even with an awesome swell at Bondi this morning there were not really any surfers about... Im pretty sure that wont last for more than a couple of days though!

Just found the Sydney Harbour swim classic is on in a couple of weeks too

I did a shark dive a few years back and thought I was going to be eaten alive, but instead, this one behind me just wanted to irritate me the whole time.  I almost pooped in my wetsuit when it swim in front of me.  Surprised
