Subject: RE: The JCC Scottsdale Spring Sprint Triathlon (Formerly City of Chandler) : Official ThreadOMG I raced! Got to meet Slidell4life, he was #267, I was #268. I was paranoid that the water would be cold, but it was heated and great, steam rising off of it at 6:30 in the morning when I'm shivering was fun. Once I realized the pool was warm, I was afraid the run from the pool to T1 would be cold, but by the end of the swim, I hardly noticed. I wasted a bit of time in T1 because I kept feeling like I forgot something. The bike ride was nice and flat, I waved at the police every time I passed them. Starting off my legs felt a little achy, I did a 12 mile ride the morning before with Nick at South Mountain. But after the first lap it wasn't so bad. The only traffic that seemed like it shouldn't be there was coming back on Sweetwater from Hayden. The run is where I have the most trouble, but it wasn't so bad, it was flat, and straight, and I could just concentrate on putting one foot in front of the other. Unfortunately, despite my calling my wife twice to remind her to bring the camera, she did not, and all I have for pictures is a single one from her cell phone. Meh. But I did get two t-shirts, a big tub of "heed" (electrolyte drink powder from hammer), and a 5th place ribbon. |
