Subject: RE: Socks - yes or no?If you ever get tri-specific bike shoes, they are made to be worn sockless. They are cushiony and nice inside and the fit is not appropriate to wear socks with. Since I got "tri" bike shoes, I haven't worn a sock and never missed it. Then my feet are dry by the time I return, by the way. However, if I am wearing my old cycling shoes that are not meant for wet bare feet (I have a pair of mountain bike Shimano shoes) I wear socks no matter what. Sometimes I wear them for duathlons. I've been putting on socks in T2 until this year. I accidentally forgot my socks on a training run early in the season and discovered that, for a short run, I didn't need them. So now I do not race with socks for sprints. I will continue to wear them for longer than 3 mile runs until I can experiment some more. Because of this, I occasionally do not wear socks to run. But mostly I do. |
