Yeah so who is organizing this???

And the entire forum takes a step backwards, and stays very, very quiet.............

(P.S. I would -- but I just can't do it next month. Work has been too crazy. I don't even have time to get my training in these days, much less organize a challenge. )

So I'm happy to organise/help organise the May challenge and I have a couple of ideas:

For sorting out teams, I'd enjoy a "President's Cup" challenge -- the USA versus the rest of the world (and realistically we'd probably need to split up the USA into regions to keep the teams balanced). (My main reason for liking this idea is that I live in the UK and would really like to compete alongside some more people in my time zone!)

For the challenge itself, how about another multisport month or a brick challenge??

And I'll be honest and say I'm less keen on the eliminator ideas or penalising people for overtraining, because I agree with all the points made above. But happy to go with the group consensus.

Sounds like a great idea Gill!

I like the multi sport approach, I think it's really helped me to keep my training more balanced.

I am with you on the penalties - I think in one challenge the rule was that if you were over a certain % toward your goals early in the challenge you had to up your goals - that worked pretty well.  Unfortunately I can't remember the exact rules, but it's food for thought.

I think it was Donto's swim challenge, but I'm not sure. It might be worth asking him

Thanks for being willing to run the challenge Gill!  Let me know if I can help.

Once you post the info, Dee or I will sticky it for you so it's at the top

Sounds like a good idea to me too.  I like being on teams with people in the same area.

If you need any help, please let me know.  I've finally gotten a handle on all of this.  Plus, I have some spreadsheet templates for the multisport stuff.

Very cool idea! Let me know how I can help in my region.

Great! I'm pretty handy with an excel spreadsheet but still finding my way around googlesheets. Which do people find easier to manage?

Here's my suggested challenge: multi-sport, so your goal has to include all 3 disciplines (unless you have a medical reason for missing one), with a 5% bonus for every brick/race each week up to a maximum of 2 bricks/races per week. You can go up to 110% of your goal to help out other members of the team.

In terms of specific help, is there someone in North America who can help me out by watching the threads and answering questions?

I'll post this all in a separate thread now

The May Challenge Announcement thread has been stickied to the top of the forum.

The challenge is being organized by Gill (GillyFev). And Nicole (MDHillSlug) has offered to help out. Thanks Gill and Nicole! :)
