Hahaaa, only 90 miles? Running a half & biking 90 sounds like a pretty good weekend to me

Here's the half mary website for details: http://www.tourdepeevee.com/

Robin, I should be able to do part of the ride with you. I've done 69 between Prescott Valley and just past Mayer before, which was about 40 miles round trip, but we could stretch that some since I'm not as much of a chicken in Prescott Valley, plus you can also add some mileage by going up Cherry Road (Highway 169, I think).

I won't be able to do 90 miles of those rolling hills at this point, plus I'll need to boot scoot to support the guys biking home. But I think I'd still be able to do 50 to 60 and still be able to catch up with the guys (or maybe we make them leave a little later...)

Kim,

That sounds great. 40-50 miles with ya would be great. I'll go ahead and sign up for Pee Vee and plan on camping up there somewhere next Sat.

I talked with Dean at lunch and our plan is set. We're not planning to do the half mary, but we'll be up in Prescott next Saturday night for the Sunday (Sept. 20) rides.

Dean and Elliot (and anyone else crazy enough to join them) will go their way (probably starting in downtown Prescott and going out Iron Springs road) and Robin and I will go ours (start in Prescott Valley for a 69/169 loop). Dean says that after my ride, I should be able to scoot down I-17 and meet up with them 74 or 89 (assuming things go well) instead of following behind through Skull Valley, which will help speed things up.

Sounds like it will be fun!

I'm up for some fun!

Is anyone signed up for the half on Saturday? I'm debating whether I should drive down Friday night or Saturday morning (really early)... race starts at 7 I believe and I'll still need to check in, get my number, etc...  I know Dean and Kim were planning on driving down Saturday night.

If anyone is interested, I have 3 extra seats with an extra spot on my roof rack for a bike (and possibly another bike could fit in the trunk.  I'm running into a problem though --I'm doing the ride with Dean on Sunday, so I would need someone to drive my car back from Prescott.  If no one is interested in doing this, I can try asking one of my friends to drive me up there and taking my car back on Saturday.  I'm not familiar with Prescott but I do have a GPS in my car.

Another option would be to drive back on Saturday after the run and and ride back up there Dean and Kim in the evening.. However, I know there were others interested in riding on Sunday so I'm unsure whether there will be space.

THoughts anyone?

Update: I might just go up for the Half Mary - leaving late Fri to camp out (not sure where), and then do the run Sat am. I suspect that I have a group project for school Sat afternoon so will have to return then. In that event, I will just stay in Phx and do my 90 mi ride Sun. Especially since a buddy of mine is up for a 90 mile tour down here. (Kim, hope you can still get a good ride in that event! )

Elliot, I am up for helping transporting bikes or bodies or whatever you need. But again, I wouldn't be leaving until Fri evening, after my swim.

As always though, my schedule fluctuates though. This too may all change.

That would be great, Robin! I don't get off work until 5 or so on Fri (I can probably leave work a little earlier if you want to take off sooner). I know your schedule fluctuates quite a bit so just keep me updated. Thank you so much!

Okay everyone, here's my plan for the Prescott:

Friday - Driving up with Robin Friday evening.. if we get there my 8pm, we can pick up our packets, check in, etc.. if not, check in is available till 6:45 the Sat morning. I guess I'll just wing it for sleeping that night.

Saturday- Run the half, run a little more afterwards, and maybe go on a short ride.  I'll probably just get a hotel near our starting point on Sunday so I can get a good night's rest in (and shower).

Sunday- The fun bike ride home.

Not sure if anyone else is coming up besides Dean, Kim, and Robin.  I know Travis is out.. and I'm still waiting to hear from Dustin.
