How many surfers are there on BT (Page 2)

No, but there is a killer great lakes surfing forum, it's called lakesurf or something like that.  Really cool site.

I tried wind-surfing once but found it was harder than it looked. Without buying my own gear, I didn't have enough oppertunities to stick with it. I also got sliding along with the waves on a short sit-down board/kayak thing while on vacation in Hawaii once, but never tried the real thing.

I love to surf, but not much surfing here in Shreveport, LA.

Everytime I go to somewhere where I can surf, I do.

I used to Surf. I live in Washington, but my grandparents lived in Southern California for 15 years, so I spent a few weeks every year surfing. I don't know if you can call me a surfer, but I did surf for quite a few years. Too bad the ocean front property doesn't have any good swells!

oceanfront implies good swells. You just have to see a pancake flat day where I live.

Believe it or not, Northern Ireland is supposed to have some great surf (WHAT?). Well, it IS an island. One of my flatmates has offered to take me. This might end up being a weekend of falling in very cold seas. It is definitely wetsuit legal!!!

Or the documentary Step into Liquid - there's a bit on the Great Lakes, although they poke fun at it a little I've surfed a little on Vancouver Island in Canada - cold, but always a good time.

Oops! Sorry So Fresh So Clean, I mean to say, "Too bad the ocean front property of Utah (where I currently live, I grew up in Washington, but I'm at school in Utah) doesn't have any good swells." Thanks for pointing that out. I was in a hurry and didn't get a time to review my post before taking off for an exam.

NI has some fantastic surfing though its definitely a full steamer time of year.

One of my reasons for coming to Sydney was to surf more (used to just go on holiday sometimes). I started off living across from the beach and surfing every morning before work which was pretty cool. Got less frequent last year and now there's tri training instead but still get out every now and then. (Also graduated from an appartment so no longer across the road from the beach).
