Elite ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() SCamp07 - 2012-06-05 8:19 PM Looks like a lot of news organizations are calling it for Walker. With 40% of precincts reporting he has a 57%-43% lead. It will be interesting to see if that margin holds and also what this will mean for the Presidential election in November.
Exit polling indicates 54% support Obama to 42% for Romney. |

Let the left wing whining begin... Wonderful that we managed to p*ss away $10-20 mil due to the left's temper tantrum only to have Walker win by a larger margin in Barrett's do-over than the first go around. Mahlon Mitchell, the dems candidate for lieutenant gov, seemed to lay down some solid groundwork for the left's wailing in his "concession" speech. |

Expert ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Looks like the people of Wisconsin have spoken and Walker it is. Pretty groundbreaking for our state I must admit. I didn't think we had it in us. |

![]() I don't know exactly how to take this particular set of recalls (ignore Walker for a minute) Four GOP senators were recalled. Their vote was yesterday. The state legislature is not in session and will not be in session until after the November election. WTF was that recall money wasted on? Things like that reinforce that this whole recall was done out of spite and disliking the fact that one group did not get elected and had nothing to do with the reason for a recall election. Petty temper tantrum when your side doesn't get elected is not a way to win friends and influence people. |

Petty temper tantrum when your side doesn't get elected is not a way to win friends and influence people. One thing to keep in mind is that a lot of signatures are requested and a movement has to be established to obtain them. It is not just a temper tantrum from a select few as it is being portrayed. Having said that, i'm not a fan of recall elections, even if i understand that sometimes they are necessary. In Miami-Dade we went through this expense recently and the Mayor was actually recalled, but in my opinion nothing was acomplished and we went back to the same routine. |

Expert ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() I tend to agree with what DanielG is saying. I think the recall process is a joke and a tremendous waste of taxpayer time and money. I also think a recall should not be allowed unless some type of gross misconduct or serious offense has occurred....A crime, if you will. I just don't think we should be recalling every time someone wins who we don't like. Walker ran on a platform outlining the EXACT things he actually did in office, so there should not have been much surprise there. I think the bigger surprise is actually seeing a politician DOING the things they said they were going to do. Hat's off to the guy for making tough decisions to fix a state that was in shambles. |

I think Walker did some things that needed to be done but I think one of the primary reasons this became such a huge thing is he didn't talk about it on the campaign trail. |

If Walker wins, watch for rioting and people trying to stop the state's legislature from being able to function. Still waiting on the riots, or do you think it will be delayed? |

I'll be happy to be proven wrong. I'm guessing this is the stunned silence from those who JUST KNEW Walker would lose in a landslide. I'm also still wondering about the threat to "Shut down the state if Walker's reelected" as was said on many occasions. But then again I wonder if those speaking knew the state legislature would already be out of session either before or immediately after the recall election. Again, I would be happy to be proven wrong. |

I think you will be proven wrong on the rioting. The shut down threat is still to be determined. I think that is in Walker's court. He was gracious in his victory and is talking about "working together". Let's see if he keeps that promise. |
