I think I wasn't hydrated enough for tears to flow, but I was crying on the inside. It was magical! I didn't get emotional when I actually ran down the finish chute - I felt like I was in a time warp. Right. I just about started crying when I had to go back out for the last 13. 1 miles. Can't say they were tears of joy though. |

Running by the finish chute was amazing and it gave me something extra to look forward to. My run splits got significantly shorter after I experienced that! |

HA! I guess you didn't read the race reports... eh? Oh yeah, at mile 13 ish, you see the finish line. You are JUST THAT CLOSE... and get to make a right turn and go back out for another 13 miles.  |

Other than the moment that I panicked when I jumped into the water, that turnaround point had to be the worst part of the race. I picked up the pace for those few miles just to get away from the sights and sounds and torture of seeing that finish line. |

As for the actual race, I just look forward to finishing and hopefully fulfilling a dream, that will be more than enough for me. --Chris |

Another BTer has graciously offered his services to throw my cleats on a pair of heels for the bike, so it's still an option. However, read my RR from this year, I'll be sportin a very "interesting" swimsuit in 09, so maybe you will have something else to focus on and won't miss the heels |

I'm not doing IMKY this year as I'm doing IMCDA, wanted to try something different. My wife and I are going to come down and volunteer though, we'll cheer you on. You'll all have a great time and really enjoy the course.
