Subject: RE: Tire Changing StorySomehow I knew this thread would be here when I got to work this afternoon....with friends like these who needs enemies??? Ok so here is the REAL version of what happened......After our wonderful run (I ran TWO legs to everyone else's one.....both were the fastest of the day I might also add), we decided to go to Chipoltle for lunch. It was great....love the burritos from there better than Willy's. So on the way to ride my stomach is telling me that Chipotle maybe wasn't the best choice for lunch after running and before biking. After completing my "Gatorade" stop at Walgreens (I really did need gatorade, but I can never show my face in that Walgreens again), I went over to the trail for our ride. Comet in a ploy to get me to pump up her tires offers to attach my blow out bag to my bike in exchange for me pumping up her tires. She then tells me that my rear tire is flat, so I pump it up and hear air escaping from somewhere in the tube. Luckly I have a spare and start to change my tire (insert tasteless comments here) in the parking lot. First of all it did not take 20 minutes (more like 10 to change then the stem issues) and I had a constant monolouge about how my car smelled like syrup ( I have a 2 year old) along with the tasteless comments on tire changing. After getting my short stemmed tube seated in the tire my pump wouldn't lock on the valve so I could inflate the tire to the desired pressure. I had to use my CO2 cartridge and pumped up my tire...end of story. |
