wurkit_gurl - 2008-08-13 10:16 AM Here's a question- who, on the American team would be the dominator if Phelps was not around? Just asking - I don't have any opinions since I don't know enough about the other guys.

i don't think there would be one, right?  seems like a lot of the guys don't cross over too much with the same success.  piersol would probably be a close one b/c he dominates his event.  i think graevers has the potential, but isn't there yet.  i don't know though...

I know, just seems like they don't really talk too much about any of the other guys at all. I know Phelps is amazing, but the rest of them are good too, or they wouldn't be there!

Lochte is a Hottie!

Oh, agreed, emphatically

I do feel bad for all the other boys, though, not getting enough butt shots camera time and such.

Props to Rebecca Soni for setting a new Olympic Record!

She's so cute - it's like she still has her baby fat and yet she's a superb athlete!

Edit: And Amanda Beard is done. Out.

Lochte is very well rounded and would probably be the dominator - Back, Free, IM. I would not be surprised to see him beat Phelps in the 200 IM.

I would die of the hotness that ensued

^^^And a bronze! Good for him...that's a tough schedule he had tonight.

Medal ceremony for Rebecca Soni--you could totally see her trying to catch the moment in her head...what a moment that would be...I think we all have some of those, oh my gosh, is this happening to me moments--where you stand there, and it's unreal.  It's awesome to see the joy and happiness in their eyes.  Reminds us all to capture those moments when we have them.

I know! I can't believe he had to swim against Phelps like 20 minutes after winning his gold. It's a conspiracy, I tell you - they just didn't want anyone to come close to beating Phelps Right before I turned the TV off, they said that without Phelps, Lochte would be the best.

Rebecca Soni was sooo cute when they interviewed her - good for her!

so heart broken for Libby Trickett,   soo agonizingly close to gold.   After almost not qualifying to turn it around and be so fast in the final but miss out by a fingertip.  Ouch!

Yeah, but way to come back for the finals though...thankfully she made it in, she obviously deserved to be there.  I must say, I think you Aussies are my favorites after our US team...you always have some truly quality athletes in various sports.  I also got to work with some Aussie military members and really was impressed by them.

Congrats to Addlington from Great Britain--she just broke Janet Evans' 1989 world record in the 800m...8:14:10...breaking the record by a full 3 seconds!  That was the longest standing WR left.  Congrats!
