Although I admit, 3 days after surgery I have almost 0 pain.

Just wait till they rip those staples out!!!

Make sure you take some pain meds about 1/2 before.  It hurts (burns and stings) getting staples removed!

i don't have any "pre" or "during" pics, they probably would have made me pass out anyway
but here we are all healed,
Titanium plate, 7 screws and a synthetic bone graft.

Special thanks to Curt Schilling's bloody ankle doc for his craftiness.

This is a fun thread.  I suppose that sounds morbid...  Best of luck and a quick recovery is hoped for you all.
I have to ask, what's up with DrPete jumping on board with his "What about me?" post.  Get a life, dude!

It's a thread about scars. I make them for a living. I'll be sure to look into a life as soon as I'm not so busy. Glad you joined for the sole purpose of getting that shot in... You should be proud.

I do believe that I may be the king of BT scars.  The worst is my transplant scar.  Some complications make it worse than most.
First picture is my A/V Fistula and the scar that comes from putting it in.
Second is the transplant scar
Third is from a broken bone from falling on the ice.  Plate and some screws inserted.

I didn't think having the staples pulled hurt at all.

I hope your shoulder heals up well - vitamin E does wonders.

When I was 12 I had the right side of my face ripped off by a German Shepard.  I had the scar revised in 1997 so it is lighter and flatter than it was originally.  I know people sometimes notice it and wonder and I honestly wish they would just ask.  Of course I can't speak for all women or men either but if you notice a scar don't be afraid to ask what it is from.  I think people are afraid because it is on my face and I am a girl.  I don't mind talking about it, really.  Part of me wishes I had pictures from the day and following days/weeks and part of me is glad I don't.

Here is another post-surgery and a couple months later pic...

two weeks after surgery...

today... about 5 1/2 months later...

I'm just loving the fact that you can actually see my Achilles tendon now.    Not a bad scar at all.

jd- dude you definitely win... that makes me feel like a wuss

newleaf - Your foot looks 10,000x better.  And shinier

pete - I appreciate all scar makers. I'd rather have a scar than not be able to lift my arm!

I think I'm gonna treat myself to some Zipp 404's if my check up goes well

I would post a pic of my rocket shrapnel scar... but it's a "million dollar wound" and I don't think it would get past the sensorship here.  Wink

When was this? Were you treated in DC?

staples aren't that bad to have removed.  i had some staples in my head from a car accident back in high school and the only problem was that the skin started to heal around a couple of them so they didn't come out totally clean.  otherwise, i barely noticed it.  it was pretty weird having someone yank on your head like that though.

Bummer.  I can't find the scene on you tube for Lethal Weapon 3 when Renee Russo and Mel Gibson are comparing scars.

Luckily mine have faded, but they are still there as reminders...
