Subject: RE: CenturyTel WhistleStop Marathon : MN Official Threadmndiver - 2009-10-10 6:42 AM Any crazy thoughts of sneaking up last night were erased by the predicted temps. All the best of luck to you guys today. We woke up to half an inch of snow in the southern metro this morning. Bryan, you didn't miss much. To me it was miserable 27 and windy (at least at the end ). I thought I did everything right, started out relaxed kept the heart rate down, had a gel and electrolyte tab every 5 miles, hydrated well. Wheels came off! Couldn't ever get warmed up. Thought I might have been hypothermic at mile 16. Funny thing is that all my running buddies who typically run close to 4 hours all ran about 25 minutes slower. I came in at 4:39. This is the first race I have seriously considered DNFing. You didn't miss much... |
