Well, as I ramp back up from injury, the totals are not that impressive, but with our little cold snap I managed to get in a couple crappy runs. (oh and the weather wasn't too good either)

Tues. run 31.10 min X 5 (3 degrees) = 157.5
Thurs. run 21.39 min. x 5 (12 degrees) + 2 (18mph wind) = 149.73

Weekly total: 307.23

Sunday - 39 minutes, 28 degrees, no real wind = 39 x 1 = 39 points
Tues. - 39 minutes, 30 degrees, no real wind = 39 x .5 = 20 points
Frid. - 43 minutes, 20 degrees, 15+ mph wind = 43 x (3 + 2) = 215 points

The fuel belt "bottles" are probably too small to avoid freezing but if you use an endurance drink/powder it usually will not freeze (at least in the regular water bottles). Actually you may still have a frozen spot at the spout but if you can open the container then you should be fine.  I use the fanny pak camelbak, again the reservoir doenst freeze but the tube does, you can use the insulated tube but you still have to kind of blow the water back in to avoid freezing. Just another one of those cold weather adaptations!

Looks like we have been getting your warmer weather, it has been in the 30's all week! I have been walking trying to take it easy on a bruised (I think he said tibia) bone just below my knee and bruised ribs. He had a fancy name for my injuries but all I heard is your bruised not broke and let pain be your guide. Anyway, after taking it easy most the week, I am going to run tomorrow in this balmy 30 degree weather. Wont rack up the points this week but it will be nice and warm for my run.

Congrats on the crappy weather workouts!

Oh forgot to mention and you may have already though of this, I dont believe vodka will freeze in your fuel belt!

Well, it's about time somebody comes up with an appropriate solution!!!

Hangloose, I had tried room temperature, but never Hot Water, I'll try that next.  Thanks.

My understanding is that hot water freezes faster than cold water when exposed outside due to particle momentum, or some cr@p like that.  I'm tellin' ya, put some old socks on the bottles.  I will test it out next week if I can move post Vegas (and the weather stays craptastic!!)

Mmmm...Mpemba!!!  Why exactly am I a banker?  I should be working the gameshow circuit, so long as there is a game show that only needs general bits of knowledge that the contestant kinda thinks is right but cant give the proper name of.

Woot!  Finally got in a decent run in some colder weather.  It's not the 1 degree you've been kicking butt in Dan, but I'll take it.

Put me down for 546 points this week.

finally, some point for me this week, barely. 34 w/ 5mph winds. hardly felt crummy, but i'll take what points i can get. am doing a long ride today, but its already 39 out. 9 mph winds, and i'll get the bike point, but getting points on nice days seems like cheating to me.

67 x 1.5 = 100.5

The weather was just too warm this week to get any points. Gotta love those Chinook's!!

Mark me down for a meagre 26 points for my run today.

Thanks

biked for 93 minutes - temp was 43, winds @ 8mph

1 point for <50 temps on the bike, and 1 point for wind = 186

+ the run from yesterday (67 x 1.5 = 100.5)

this week = 286.5

Dec 3-9

Still waiting on the real crummy weather, here is what I was able to claim this week.

12/3 - run =   45
12/6 - run =   30
12/9 - run = 115
TOTAL       = 190

My daughter raced yesterday in the snow and freezing rain.  Will try to post pictures latter.

Just one crappy weather workout before the knee went to sh*T...

One hour with honkin' wind (60 x4 = 240 plus 60 minutes + 30 points for 30 degree temp) = 270 for the week
