Yes, I admit to having owned several different wheels (404's, 808's, 1080 front, 900 disc ). In my experience, the time delta's posted on the flyer are accurate. My best times have been with a disc/1080 combo. But, the 1080 is a beast to handle if there is much wind. If you have never, ridden a pair of high profile carbon tubulars, I would highly recommend renting a set. As for the proper combination, that is contingent on the type of course you plan to race. Don't be afraid of running a rear disc. For a front a 404 is a safe bet (easy to handle in the wind, a light enough for a steep rolling course ). |
