Birkierunner - 2008-09-04 6:27 PM Can the moderators give the IM KY racers their own forum to play in? Excuse me while I go start new IM WI threads on the post-race weather, IM WI 2009, IM WI 2010, IM WI 2011, IM WI 2012, Should I do IM WI with no base? Should I do IM WI with a hangnail?, How much will IM WI 2009 cost?, etc.

IM WI 2009 will be $548.96.  And YES, Base and a hang nail are NOT required.

I am here, all registered to race, and checked in and unloaded into the hotel. Heck, I have even placed my clothing in the closet and dresser and packed my T- and special needs bags. What the heck am I going to do for 2 more days.

See you all tomorrow at the swim. I won't be swimming but I will either start or end my ride there at 9 so I can meet some of you all!!

Wow, last week it was Rogillio's keyboard we needed to take  away as he was tapering for IMKY and going crazy, this week it is becoming obvious who is over the edge Wink

Mmmmm Tuttos.  Birkie, did they have the Sugoi's with the red chamois pad?  I love those for any distance riding and GearWest was out last week. I think I paid $75 last time but $90 at the event sounds about right.

I got the Sugoi bibs with the red chamois pad for really cheap on steepandcheap.com last year.

I am thinking of wearing them Sunday. I love them.

Birkie had wireless difficulties at his hotel this morning.

Jim was looking slimmer with his trimmed 'stache.   I caught him at the beginning of the pros interview this morning.

Pseudoyams looked like a man on a mission.  Firstnet911 was relaxed and calm (well, of course, he was with AJ.  )  Rabkaman looked calm, but I think he was a little overwhelmed with all the hoopla.   Mutri was keeping it all together, but stated that he was "excited as a little schoolgirl"   (thank you, Tammy).  Misskelly introduced herself and I was quite excited to say more than "HI!" to her and wished her "Good luck".  Djdavey - well, what can I say about this guy other than he was giving me zingers constantly, but was doing quite well.

Tripletmom is with me and not feeling well.  I've got her at my house and trying to keep her rested, but she won't.  Tammy, go lay down already.   She did indicate that she met mndiver (Hi, Bryan), schmize (Hi, Scott), goalie?

Happy note - I get to sign up for IM MOO '09 on SATURDAY because I'm a registration volunteer!!!  WOOT!!!

This has been a blast to read!! Keep it going Jim but remember to get rest, stressing over a BT thread is definitely wasted energy!!

Good luck to everyone! I wish I was there doing it with you again this year! I look forward to the tracking thread!

Get some rest!!

Trust me...I haven't spent a second stressing over any threads   Giving crap to IM KY racers (in sarcasm red font for tongue in cheek mind you) is my BT form of relaxation.  I just had a nice cup of Ben and Jerry's Chocolate Fudge Brownie and I'm ready to go.

I'll be at the swim tommorow at 8:00 also.  Look for the bigger guy hanging out by the bleachers in front of the swim start until 8:00.  I'll have on a white BT shirt until I'm ready to swim.

Just got back from a filming session with Sccobysdad.  He asked me to review the logs of mutri (Josh), Tammy (tripletmom1), and Dave (djdavey) and then I gave my impressions of their preparation for tomorrow's race.  I'm sure some of it will end up on the editing room floor    Bike rack #79, T bags both in rows 31 in each room - easy to remember.  Nice weather today...I'm thinking cloudy, cool and showers tomorrow.  Multiple rain jackets stashed in various T and special  needs bags.  Rob (pseudoyams) and I did a short bike ride late morning.  I really want to go for a short run but I don't want to put any stress on my left leg.  Gonna head out for meal at 3'ish and then snack a little in the early evening.

Well, everything is done and all the prep laid.  Got the bike to the rack (just after the 'overpass' on the left.  Pretty much right in the middle.  We got there a bit late and was only able to drop off our T1 bags.  No worries, the IronSherpa will be carrying my stuff.

Had a good last ride and remembered just how bumpy the first mile or so of the road of the stick is.  It's all good. The body is feeling relaxed and we'll just have to see how things go tomorrow.

My T1 bag is about 30 lbs.  Cycling jersey, arm warmers, leg warmers, gloves, rain jacket, helmet shoes, and tons of random crap.  Good times.

I was there ALLLLL day today, from 8-3 or so. I spent a good 2 hours bothering Phil on his registration shift, but I through in some free volunteer labor in exchange. It was nice to meet a few BTers today and can't wait to see you on the course tomorrow. For anyone finishing after 7:45, I will be on the final corner right at the finish, Doty and MLK in a bright yellow cow shirt. Looking forward to cheering you all on! Have a great race.
