The final race instructions are on the main 5430sports.com website under the Latest News heading on the left side. The instructions are a .doc download.

Looks like it may be a hot day. Have fun out there.

Thanks Donskiman...I found them!

So...they say the water temp. is going to be in the 70's....how many of you are still planning on wearing your wetsuit??? I'm on the fence. I like how it makes me more bouyant (sp??), but not wearing one is a huge time saver!

I'll be wearing my wetsuit too. I've read that wetsuits make swimming faster by about 10 seconds per 100, so about 2:30 for this swim. I can get the suit off in much less time. In the 5430 Sprint my T1 was around 1:15 using a wetsuit and without it I may have been maybe 15-20 seconds faster. Not really an issue unless you're competing for an AG award and I'm not even close considering how woefully insufficient my training has been.

I need to meet a 1:20pm flight at DIA, so I'll be at packet pick-up early and going to the 11a.m. pre-race meeting.  Anyone else planning to be there on the earlier side of Saturday?  Looking forward to meeting some more BTers!

I'm going to the 11:00 meeting too, probably getting to the expo around 10 and maybe get a massage.  I'll look for my BT shirt to wear.

Absolutely, wearing my wetsuit.

I guess I'll be wearing my wetsuit too! My swimming is my weakest link, so I need all the free speed I can get!

I'm doing the Peak also! This will be my 2nd year.
Old Stage is not too bad- if you keep an easy gear you'll be fine going up.
I agree on saving your energy for the rest of the bike course and the run.
The course rocks btw... I love racing in Boulder.
I'll be at one of the packet pickup meetings, probably the first one, then we'll be hanging on the beach with the kids for awhile.

I'll be in the wetsuit. It's like a big security blanket for me. This is my second Peak. I road up Old Stage Rd twice last week to get used to it. I'll reiterate what others have said, it's short and steep and some will walk the most difficult section.

That's what I was afraid of in the sprint, but there were lots of people still on the course.  Think of it as a chance to pass pass pass

Great to see you guys today!  Susan, how do you get a BT shirt?

I've had no AC all week and the house hasn't gotten below 80* at night, I haven't been sleeping, and now I'm coming down with a cold from being run down.  If I get there tomorrow, I am #786.  I probably will be there, unless my cold gets really bad.  (New AC system being installed NOW)  If not, I want to wish everyone good luck and have a fun race!

Hope everyone had a good race! personally, I didnt go as fast as I would have liked, but I had a blast and it was a great first Tri!
My only two newbie hiccups (other than poor pacing in a couple sections) included my shoe not clipping into my pedal, and Zigging and zagging across the first part of the swim section

Watched the swim start and stayed until most everyone was in from the bike.  I headed over to TW Park and could see you all on the run course so did some cheering from there.  Then I hopped on my bike and did one loop of the Long Course before heading home.  Congratulations ... Great race for all of you!

Considering that this was only my second tri (I had friends talk me into doing the Rev3 HIM in CT, which I finished as well), finishing the Boulder Peak felt great, but I almost felt that the water was too warm for the suit and I could feel myself heating up a little more than I expected.  I had a great time for most of the course, but Old Stage Coach road took my lunch money and kicked me to the curb.  I think that I am going to like the Olympic distances because they are enough of a challenge, but not so much that they cause so much fatigue that it takes you out of the daily workouts for a week (like the HIM did in June, which may also have affected my training for this one).  I hope everyone had as good a time as I did.  Even my wife had a good time as a spectator.....
