I rode 50 miles of hills the day before Ridgefield, Kelly will just have to cowboy up!  Seriously, if people would prefer a shoreline loop here is an option http://www.mapmyride.com/ride/united-states/ct/new-haven/593346543 this is a one-way ride, but we break it off at Short Beach on Branford and loop back, can even go up Route 17 and go back through Hamden. I can also make something up. Out to Madison is almost 60 miles round trip from NH 95 will have light traffic on a saturday morning in both directions.. I guess I have to pull out my big girl bike shorts (and not whine). |

Is there any consensus as to how long of a ride it will be? Claudia - (sorry I have not formally introduced myself - I was around 2 years ago - had a baby and did not come back until now. I have 3 kids ages 4yrs and under - so life is crazy - just did my first tri on Sunday - finally - and it was great...again, sorry for the short and hijacking intro....Nice to meet you ) |

I hope to ride saturday but I am not sure right now  as I don't want to jepordize Park City and Hartford Mara.I will post a ride from NH tonight, directions to Yale Bowl and will be at the ride site Saturday AM to either ride or see everyone off. IF you can't make it..I propose that we move the ride over to Branford area since Rob? isn't coming either..Unless someone else knows New Haven, it would seem silly to ride and not have someone with us that knows the area!!..I know Branford, Guilford... This might help you guys/gals if you're not well versed on the roads and climbs in the area. http://www.ctbikeroutes.org/ There are some decent routes in there out of Branford, Guilford, Madison. It also tells you generally if it is hilly or flat. Can't comment on anything else though. I'm not sure there is anything out of East Haven... |

Member 65 New Haven, CT | Subject: RE: Group ride Aug 8??? hi guys, i posted a ride that goes along the shoreline from new haven thru branford all the way to guilford and points east, in case people want to see elevation/turns. since you guys are starting at 7, i will have to play catchup with you since i won't leave the hospital until 7 am. i'll pack up the bike in the car on thursday night before heading into the hospital, and just drive out to meet you guys. Depending on what route you take, i might drive ahead, bike back to pick you guys up, and then keep on riding with you (ie, drive into guilford town center, park the car, and bike westward towards you).
