too late. Me and my red sox jacket arrived last night :p

Go to Mike Shannon's or somewhere like that to watch the game....wear your jacket....if you are an outgoing person you'll have a blast!  This is a baseball town, and we treat baseball fans from every team like old friends.  And we like our beer a bit too.

I love situations like that. I wore all my Sox gear to a Yankees game in the Bronx in 06. I sat next to a few Yankees fans and we were joking around just killing each other all day long. It was a blast. I'd do the same to them if they came to Fenway. It's all in good fun, but then there are people that just take it way too far. On the way out of the stadium some people threw a beer bottle at us across the street and one total scumbag grabbed my buddys Sox shirt and tried to rip it. Had a great time all game with absolutely no incidents up until then. Seeing as it was a day game that had then ended in the dark, we just high tailed it to our car and took off. I didn't care to have any part of those morons.

I don't know how to link from my phone, but there is an article on Boston.com about a Red Sox fan visiting St. Louis this week. She went to three bars including Mike Shannon's. Sounds like Left Brain was right- the author said everyone was super friendly and nice to her.

And I'm guessing boston in 5- go Red Sox!!

I remember in 04 when the Sox won there were so many reports and news outlets doing pieces of how great the STL fans were and how they were happy for Boston for winning, etc, etc. Granted everyone from around here was in some euphoric state of jubilation for a good 2 weeks after they won, but it always seemed like the city showed some real class.

Game 2 - BULLPEN

Man I'm glad for the Cardinals to win a game in Fenway.......they look lost there for the most part.

Game 2 a little bit better baseball game. Still, Breslow airmailing the throw to 3rd the game changer shows giving outs away at this level makes it very hard to win. Back to St L, I still like the Cards in 6 as the back half of Bostons rotation is very hittable and no DH more of a disadvantage for the Sox. Game on.

All I can hope for now is the Sox coming back home up 3-2. The first game was ugly on the Cards, this one was ugly on the Sox. You deifnitely can't give any extra outs to either of these teams. This series could easily go 7 too. No way either team takes all 3 in STL, so it's coming back to Boston, it's just a matter of who is up 3-2. Tonight, I sleep.

I'm not a big baseball fan, but I LOVES me some playoff baseball...  Great game last night.  Every pitch has me on edge and when Big Papi steps up?  Pure nerves.

Glad my Cards grabbed one in Beantown and man, what a stable of relievers!  If they stick around, that could be a formidable bull-pin for years.

No idea on tonight's game. Neither does the rest of the world, both teams are -110. I guess the home team looks like the better bet but tonight I will stay away and hope to just be entertained by good baseball. At least it gives me something else to watch other than the Buckeyes.

What a series. We've seen everything, and then some. I'm just glad it's coming back to Boston. Lester vs Wainwright tonight, should be an awesome matchup again. If Boston takes it tonight I think they take the series. Conversly, if the Cards win tonight, I think it goes to game 7.... which is on Halloween.

Yeah, I think the Cards have to win tonight.  I just don't see them winning 2 in Fenway to end the series. BUT....if the win tonight you have to deal with Wacha in game 6.   He's damn near unhittable right now.

That's true. I don't want to see him in a clinching game. I don't want to hear Joe Buck say his name EVER again. If we're sticking with a theme of effed up things that can happen to end a WS game, I'm saying tonight someone hits a walkoff that goes over the foul pole and they have to use instant replay to determine if it was fair/foul.

Man, I wish Buck had already retired...  Seriously, guys?  Another set of "fair and balanced" comments.

Anyway, tonight's going to be tough for the Sox, I think, even at home.  I don't see STL giving up 8...

Go Sox!

Anyone besides Boston fans think the lumberjack beards are cool?

I like the no shaving during the NHL playoffs, but this is a whole different level.

Granted I'm a Boston fan so my opinion doesn't really count, but I like the fact they ALL did it. Even guys who shouldn't be growing beards. Rumor has it that Pedroia had family pictures scheduled and his wife pleaded with him to shave the beard because I think they just had a new baby this year and she didn't want all the kids 1 y/o pics to be with dad with this monster beard. The beard won. The whole beard thing is just a giant ploy from Gillette to offer up some $$ to charity for them to all shave it or something.

Uh oh....not looking good at all for the Redbirds.  Hats off to John Lester.....beating Wainwright twice is a tall order.  And Ortiz is just in a zone!!

The pendulum has definitely swung in favor of the team my daughter calls "the ugliest bunch of dudes anywhere". HA!!

True, true, true, and true.

Like mentioned above, going to Fenway and taking two with the bats the sox have?  TOUGH.

Wacha still scares the crap out of me, but I like the odds of The Sox only needing to win 1 out of 2, both at home. Also, I don't see Wacha going more than 5-6 and The Sox have just been unrelenting all series. Ortiz is just in the zone. He's probably juicing again. Why did they pitch to him in the first inning? The guy reached base 7 straight times or something going into that AB? That's over 2-3 games, so it's not like he just had one good game. Awesome way for the Sox to start the game, with a run in the first, and a huge deflation that even though the Cards hit a few balls hard all night (mainly in the 5th when Holliday went deep) they just couldn't convert. Lester was on, Wainwright was dealing all night. That was a great game.

Game 6 should be a battle, but I think the Sox prevail. Wacha is good, but lets not forget that if not for a circus like catch in RF by Beltre, Ortiz would have had 2 HR & 6 RBI off the guy in game 2. Lackey has been here before, and is pitching well. If the Sox get an early lead, I think this thing is over quick. If it goes to 7, I have no idea what to expect. both pitching staffs would be running on fumes.

Sorry STL fans but I pretty much just sealed the deal that Game 6 will go to the Sox. Someone offered me up face value tickets (SRO, but who cares) for Game 7, so if there is anything that gaurantees that game 7 won't happen, it's me having tickets to it.
