gsulee - 2005-08-04 9:58 AM Georgia Southern University...class of 1996 and still waiting to find a good job as the result of five years of not so hard work

I'm also a Georgia Southern graduate...BS in biology in '89. Also, MS in synthetic organic chemistry from U. of Houston in 2000.

Yeah...I appreciated it very much. Where south of Houston did you live? We were in Seabrook for our 5 year stint in hell (sorry...but I was glad to leave Texas).

Oh...and I wasn't a turf management major, but I studied my fair share of grass as well.

Galveston! The dirty beach place, but I still miss the water.

The only time I've ever placed in a running race (5k) was in Seabrook! Seabrook Music Festival Fun Run.

The only time I've ever placed in a running race (also a 5K) was in Texas City! I don't think Houston's know for its active population...

Shhhhhussshh...don't piss off the TX people. I am proud of all the Houstonians who TRI on this forum!!! You are the minority and you know it. Houston was voted one of the "fattest cities" by Men's Health more than once!!

But yes, I did win b/c the race wasn't that big, but I don't tell people that.

Oh I've got nothing but the utmost respect for Houston triathletes. It's got to be the most non-condusive-to-training place to live on the planet, what with the summer weather (two seasons...summer and February), and the rednecks in pickup trucks that throw beer bottles at cyclists (yes, that happened...luckily he was a lousy shot).

And I won my AG because the race in November was 45 degrees with pelting rain and 30mph winds, so not too many people showed up, but I also don't tell people that.
