Speedo Vanquisher works best for me.

Having coached alot of folks, I can safely say no two faces are the same when it comes to google fit. Try to fit as best you can in the store. Make sure you make your adjusts the first few times you wear them, and once you find the right pair you will swear by them.

Good Luck

Could the problem be from your hair or eyebrows in the seal? If they dont seal completely on your skin they WILL leak. My daughter has this problem. As soon as I get the hair out of the way and place them under her eyebrows all is good.

We use TYR.

As many posters have said, goggles are TOTALLY personal preference...

The holding them up to the face to see if they stick trick is GREAT.

But if I can put in one more plug for SWEDES....one of the best things about them is how infinitely adjustable they are.  I don't use the plastic piece between the nose...I use a piece of the elastic band.  That way I can control how wide or narrow they are.  Many goggles come with various size pieces to put between the sockets, but nothing beats the adjustability of a band.  I also have a big nose and elastic over it doesn't hurt nearly as much as a piece of hard plastic.

Anyway, just my two cents.  Swedes are SO adjustable and that really helps me out.

Good luck...you'll find a pair you like eventually!

Hmmm.....I know it's not the hair, because I always have my hair pulled back with my swim cap on. The eyebrows is an interesting concept, but I usually leak from the bottom or by the nose. I'll have to see when swim later today.

I honestly have never taken any out of the package in the store to try them on my face. I've gone by reviews of the products, etc. I think I'm going to have to make a trip to Paradowski's. They're the only store I know that has a massive selection.

a CTRL+F tells me that I'm the only one who wears Nike goggles. Got them at Dick's Sporting Goods for like $12 and they've served me well for over a year now. As long as I spit in them before each workout everything seals up fine and holds onto my head nice and tightly.

You're not the only one. After years of using swedes, I tried a pair of Nike googles from Sports Authority, and they are far and away the best pair of goggles I've ever owned.

I have aqua sphere Vistas and I love them. I have no problems with leaking and they are very comfortable for long distance swims. Mine are tinted and I have no problem with glare which was a problem when doing OWS in the ocean at certain times.

Finding the pair that fits your face the best is the most important thing.  Once you find a particular brand and model that work for you, you'll never want to try anything else.

For me, it's Vanquishers.  I have 2 pair -- clear for indoors/overcast days and tinted for sunny days.  Swedish have never worked for me.

Another thing about goggles besides fit is to make sure you're wearing them properly.  The strap should be up on the crown of your head, not down at the base of your skull.  If the strap is down on your ears, odds are that the strap is too low.  The strap should not need to be so tight that you get headaches, or your eye sockets get sore.  If it has to be that tight to keep them from leaking, then your goggles just don't fit.  Good fitting goggles will allow a competetive swimmer to start off a block without wearing them like a necklace.

I've had some success with this setup, but I'm still working on my breathing.

I had a pair of Nike's until I basically wore them out. They started falling apart.. lol.. I couldn't find the same type, so after listening to some on this board, I bought some Aqua Sphere Kaimans. I love these, even more than I did the Nikes. I tried several others between the two.

I would get the newere carbon fiber version... that way you don't have to swim head down.

a lot of people hate them when they first try them, but i cannot swim without my swedish goggles. i have small eye sockets and every other type of goggle leaks for me. swedish goggles fit perfectly and create a suction without foam. plus you build them yourselves so you can cut the straps to fit you perfectly. $5 and totally worth it if you can get past the no foam aspect

We use TYR.

x2   -  I had this problem also.  I tried two different brands and they both leaked.  I finally realized that I was not wearing them properly.  When I finally learned to wear them slightly under the eyebrows, the leaking stopped.  They won't seal right if you are getting hair or eyebrows between the seals and the skin.

Indeed.

Keep looking for a pair.  All goggles are just plastic and rubber (or something like rubber) that come in all shapes and sizes because people's heads come in all shapes and sizes.  I went through six different kinds before I found some that worked for me.   When I did finally find them, I found a sale and bought eight pair.

They operate using positive pressure and might be what you need.

If you think goggles are bad you should have been around before they were available. Walking around with dry itchy eyes that created halos around every light. Now that was bad.

The best goggles are the ones that fit and people have made good suggestions. TYR Racetech have worked for me for years.

I am not a Tri competitor...yet.  But I do have an extensive swimming background, and I currently swim quite a bit.

I found the Tyr Socket Rockets (as an above poster mentioned) to be great goggles.  They are a foamless goggle, like Swedish styles, but they have a very nice gasket type material.  They are very cheap too, only 5-6 bucks usually.

I have tried many goggles. My eyelashes are long and they hit the lens of most small Speedo/TYR goggles. I have tried the SEAL mask it was ok but cuts up my face and it did leak here and there. I will say the Speedo Hydro Spec work great for a lot of people as well as the TYR style. They do work for me alas the lash issue. My favs are still my Barracuda Standards. Comfy and dont leave me marked up. They are a bit expensive but all the goggles have been going up in price like crazy.

After taking people's suggestions and going to the store and trying them on without the strap, I have decided that my left eye socket bone structure is retarded. The right side seal holds great on most goggles, but the left one pops right off. They're not hitting my eyebrows at all, but they just do NOT want to seal. I'm not really sure what I'm going to do about the issue. Plastic surgery? Ha!

Try to see if you can get any goggle to fit your left eye. Then find another pair with a compatible nose piece and see if you can get them to work together. Just a thought. It is probably a long shot.
