Champion 10471 Dallas, TX | Subject: RE: Louisville weather Gosh, I'm packing some long sleeved stuff just in case! Luckily I have a friend who is driving up there and I'm sending my "if it's cold" gear with him. I doubt it will hold though. I know here in Texas it was 103 last weekend and today the high was like 88. Obviously a cold front has blown in. I'm sure it will be burning hot again in 2 weeks, but the break from 100 degree heat has been nice. |

Yeah, everyone talks about the weather but nobody does anything about it. Worrying about the weather is a good thing....it means we have nothing 'serious' to worry about.....or rather, nothing that is in our control. ~Mike |

White shoes or black shoes? Should I shave my upper body for the swim since no wetsuits? 1 bento box or 2? Should I put new pads on my aero bars? What about new tape on the handlebars? My shorts with the stripes make my a$$ look big, will that ruin my finish picture? Fuel belt or no fuel belt? Am I really going to go through 20 gels in this race? Garmin or no Garmin? What do you mean nothing to worry about!! I need to get out for a long ride! Wait....... I'm tapering!! I CAN'T get out for a long ride!! AAAAAhhhhhh!!!!!!! Can I have a coffee please? |

Expert 913 St. Louis | Subject: RE: Louisville weather holy schnikes! it still looks like it's going to be a VERY hot weekend in L'Ville for the race. However... i take some solace in the fact that 7-10 day forecasts are very rarely right, so i'm still holding out hope that what we see there right now, is at least a little bit wrong. i'm okay with HOT, but i don't need BRUTAL. ~B |

I was thinking the same thing....but it doesn't look like they are predicting it will move up there. It's still lingering in FL though so maybe they just don't know what it's gonna do.

I'm planning on packing a long sleeved shirt I can wear under my jersey.. and when it gets hot, I'll pull it off and toss it in a garbage can along the way. |

I'm trying to stay positive in my taper craziness. So, let's look at the bright side of hail. It could dent up our bikes and the dimpled pattern would actually make us faster. |

I have found these tend to pretty versatile and work like regular arm warmers when it is cool (especially on early morning rides in the 60 degree range), but with a cooling effect/sun protection when the sun comes out and it heats up. |

I think we will be fine in the evening when it starts to get dark (with my fingers crossed that I will finish before dark this year!)Cheap arm-warmers tip: When I did Vineman last year the race director gave everyone a cheap idea for arm-warmers. He said rather than go spend $ on real arm-warmers (since we would not need them for the entire ride) he told us to buy men's tube-socks for $2 and cut the toe off and tada, arm warmers! This way you can toss them in a garbage can along the course rather than carry them during the race. |
