Pro 3730 NorCal | Subject: RE: October Peach Challenge Can everyone chime in with their goals or why you want to have 31 days of peach? Coming off of IMKY, I feel compelled to train everyday. Literally, I do not feel like myself until I have done SOMETHING! Right now I am training for a half-marathon the end of this month, would love to set a PR! we'll see what happens. I want to keep a good base through the winter so when I start ramping up for IM training in 09, I dont feel like I'm starting from scratch. I also want to change my body composition, which means watching what I eat (as of yesterday I'm limiting sugar, side challenge anyone?) and hitting the weights in the off season. Abbie |

Abbie For me, the 31 days of peach is to get out and do something instead of just sitting on the couch. I just finished my Masters on the 12 of Sept and I gave myself a break to be lazy after that. While I worked to finish up the Sept challenge, I want something to keep me going. I have been carrying around 10-12 lbs extra since I met my goal weight in May 06. Then with a move to a different state and school I have put off focusing hard on losing it. So I am hoping if I can get to 31 days of activity then I can get the food in check and lose those lbs. While I am still fitting in my close (ok they are not as loose) I am just not happy with myself. I want to be happy with myself and I think this is the first step. Stacie |

Expert 1202 Montana | Subject: RE: October Peach Challenge My goal: To maintain 60% of my fitness during the 'off' season. See my logs. This October challenge is to: get me back on a schedule. Since I have no races until next spring, I have a HUGE lack of motivation. I fear: gaining back more than five pounds over the winter. This morning I put 1800 yards in at the pool. I plan to run tonight. |

Veteran 422 St. Louis | Subject: RE: October Peach Challenge I'm doing the Peach Challenge because I slacked off way too much last month after IMKY. It's so much harder to get motivated without a goal! I've also earned some extra fat. My weight doesn't reflect it, but my clothes reveal my secret - and so does my body fat percentage. I feel miserable and I need to be held accountable! |

Member 70 Toronto | Subject: RE: October Peach Challenge I have joined the Peach challenge because I also don't have any races until next year and I am still deciding what races to do. I want to make sure that in the meantime I keep active so I don't gain any weight and I can increase my distance for next years races. This was my first year in triathlon and I completed a sprint distance and next year I am definitely going to do an Olympic distance triathlon. However I am very tempted in signing up for a HIM as Muskoka is only 2 hours from where I live. Anyone else think that may be biting off more than I can chew? |

I did a HIM my second season of tri-ing and a full IM in my 3rd season. Canadarn just did Muskoka, she can weigh in on the course/race. Be prepared for the increase in volume from Oly to HIM training. Check out the training plans on BT so you know what you are in for. |

Extreme Veteran 710 Wilmington, NC | Subject: RE: October Peach Challenge Arnoldro...I did just do the Muskoka 70.3! It was definately...challenging!! The bike is very hilly but it's doable if you train appropriately! I had only done sprints prior to this as well! You can do it! Huntsville area is so pretty at that time of year! I am doing the Peach challenge b/c I was inspired by Abbie. I feel that now that my HIM is over I am not getting as good of workouts in and I just need something to keep me focused and challenged. I am training for a few 1/2 marathons right now. I am racing next weekend up in Baltimore and possibly November in Wilmington, NC and then I am signed up for the Kiawah Island, SC 1/2 marathon in December. Yesterday I did a weight workout in the morning (50 mins or so) 15 mins walking on the treadmill (incline) Then did a 1hr 16 min OWS after work. Today I ran before work...just 24 mins. Oh...and I have challenged myself to do the stairs at work each. My goal is to complete 500 in a month. I sound insane, don't I??? |

Member 279 DC Metro | Subject: RE: October Peach Challenge Can I join?! I didn't know what the peach boxes meant. What do the darker peach boxes mean? I want to join because I want to get below 200 by the end of the year. Sadly, that was my goal last year at this time as well but I think I can do it this year! I'm also running a 5k at the beginning of December and it'll be my first race ever. Yesterday I did 40 minutes of weights and 30 minutes of running. Today I did 20 minutes of running and 35 minutes of swimming. Tomorrow, I want to do a very light workout so that will be TBD. |

Dark peach are days when there is no S/B/R logged, I think.
