Expert 1076 Las Vegas, NV | Subject: RE: Team EDISON: Stick to the plan Baowolf - 2009-02-02 3:32 PM So to get things started, early morning 17 mile bike, noon 7.6 mile run and this evening 3000 yard swim. So you find a warm place to swim, or still ice bathing? |

You know how they say this sport is addictive...I didnt believe it but I ran my first road race this weekend and already planning on doing many more...I guess now I'm over the nervousness and just ready to go. |

Elite 5316 Alturas, California | Subject: RE: Team EDISON: Stick to the plan I swim in a nice cozy warm outdoor pool. Well the pool is warm (geothermaly heated) but the air getting to the pool is often in the 20s when I swim. But ya the 84F water is much much better than my last swim in the lake at 45F. Trying to build my swim endurance back up after a couple months with no access. Someday I will have my Swimspa 15 feet from my computer in the next room. Not soon enough. |

Pro 4353 Wallingford, PA | Subject: RE: Team EDISON: Stick to the plan Good Morning Team Edison, Spreadsheets are FINALLY up!! Sign-in, as usual, is email:[email protected], password:challengeforum. There are a few blank spaces on some of the spreadsheets because SOME PEOPLE haven't posted their goals yet.... As PUNISHMENT for failing to complete your goals this month, the loosing teams must change their avatar to a goofy cupid image for the month of March, and add the statement "My team LOST the February Challenge" to their signature. Okay, now log off of BT already and GET OUT THERE AND TRAIN!!! |

Expert 1076 Las Vegas, NV | Subject: RE: Team EDISON: Stick to the plan I'm going to utilize the contract clause of 'terms of agreement have changed' and only update my avatar if I don't meet my monthly goals Shouldn't be an issue anyway as Team EDISON is gonna win this challenge! I was trying to find a good Edison picture for the team table background. Not Edison, but fond a funny period one with a bike:

Master 1734 On a lake in the Adirondacks in NY | Subject: RE: Team EDISON: Stick to the plan Maybe there is an easier way, but I use the Quote button on the posting with the table and then hit the HTML button and copy the table piece of the html. I hope there is a better way to share the tables and someone will tell us! |

Expert 683 Lafayette, CA | Subject: RE: Team EDISON: Stick to the plan Hi: My name is Geoff Wieczynski. I have 5 kids and a great wife. I am finishing up an 16 off season plan focusing on biking and running. The last week of the month I'll be traveling on business. My A race is Vineman 70.3, but I may do Wildflower Long Course assuming family stuff is taken care of. My goals are: Bike 11 hours Also, my other goal is to stay "peachy" for the entire month. Cheers Team! |

Veteran 104 greensboro, NC area | Subject: RE: Team EDISON: Stick to the plan Hi Guys, A little about me. I am training for my very first tri this summer. Sometimes I think that I am crazy for doing this as I never did really run, bike or swim for that matter. My thing has always been group cardio classes and weight training at a gym. However, after battling a very serious illness for the last year and a half, I just wanted to say that I CAN do something like this. That mentally and physically I can. So I told a lot of people who initially thought that I was crazy and now I have to prove to them and to myself that I will finish my first tri this year. Who knows, maybe I'll love it. Anyway, I am married with two children ages 9 and 6. My husband who was one that initially thought I was crazy is now a big supporter. He sees my dedication and sometimes when I don't feel like working out pushes me to do it anyway. My goals aren't as lofty as some, but they are higher than any of the other months that I have been training - I feel pretty confident that I will make it. |

Elite 5316 Alturas, California | Subject: RE: Team EDISON: Stick to the plan Welcome Christy. I as well as many here started not so long ago with no training history in any of the three events. Are you doing a Sprint as your first Tri or are you shooting for something longer? I did my first Sprint Tri in 12/07. You can do it, just follow a plan and put in the training, the rest will follow. As for me, I am at 70+ miles biked, 14+ miles run and 3000 + yards swum for the week, right on target. I am still debating whether to put my long run on Wed after an am bike and a noon run or to put it as a stand alone on Sunday after a long bike on Saturday. Oh well, I will figure it out, maybe try it in both slots on different weeks. How's the training going? Who is on target, not? |

Master 1734 On a lake in the Adirondacks in NY | Subject: RE: Team EDISON: Stick to the plan I was doing great right up until this morning when I woke up with a sore throat and skipped my swim. All is not lost, though. I've got a trainer ride scheduled for Friday that I can do tonight and save my swim for the weekend. I will get all my time in. I promise! Christy, I will be doing my first tri this year as well, so you are not the only one whose goals seem low. I registered for a sprint in June, so now I am committed and have to train. Have you picked a race yet? |

Elite 4372 Connecticut | Subject: RE: Team EDISON: Stick to the plan I'm doing pretty well for the week. I still haven't made it to the pool but I will tonight. Got a 4.6 mile run done this morning. It was supposed to be a tempo run but my hamstring was a bit tight. So, I ended up doing a nice steady run up until the last mile. I threw in a little interval work for the last mile to spice it up. I was on the treadmill. I hate the treadmill. Here is the link for the spreadsheet. I didn't see it anywhere else so I thought I'd post it. |

Christy - You got some great kids there in your picture. I have a feeling that you have a helluva story behind all this and if you don't mind, I think I may have to find some inspiration in it for myself as I continue on my own quest. Glad to have you here!!!! You will make your goals!!! We won't let you down. Walt |
