I am going to go ahead and try the speed laces

Um, yeah... I'm going to have to ask you to go ahead and try the Yankz laces

Negative Ghost Rider the pattern is full....  just say no to Yankz!  Go with the speed laces!  With a name like speed...they gotta be faster!    And they are definitely more comfortable!

I've used the Lock Laces with great success... downside is there is only one level of tension for the whole foot

This season I switched to Xtenex, which allow individual tension adjustments between any set of eyelets

I use Yankz too. I love them! I have them on all my athletic shoes! It is true, it takes a couple runs to get the tension right, but once you do you don't have to worry about it ever again! LOVE THEM!

I've got the easy laces too.  I've worn them in a few 5K's and two sprint tri's this year and they seem to work great.  I'm happy with them.

All that said... I actually do the tie once and pull the shoes on and off from then on.  Super fast in transition and never a problem.   You could occasionally retie if they get stretched out, but I don't usually have to do that.  The shoes wear out first.  When the shoes are new they are a little bit hard to pull on at first, so I wouldn't race in shoes where I haven't slipped them on and off a few times.

Just moved from Yankz to Xtenex.  I had gotten new running shoes and had a real difficult tim changing the laces Yankz over to the new shoes.  Read about Xtenex on another tri site and picked up a pair at the local running shop.  Easy to put in and can adjust the tension specifically for each eyelet.  I think they're keepers.

Another vote for a simple tie off of the original laces and go with a looser shoe.
