Stage one done--36.4 miles (sorry to our international crew) for 2:35. 2,700 feet climbing with tons of wind in Livermore.  I wasn't able to get out to the Vineman course.  :-(   I am going to modify my goals as I need to move my Saturday workout to Friday in order to pick my daughter up at school.  Kaqphin--please let me know if I need to get this notarized.

Good morning!!

I see we've got a group with some varied geography!  Just a little intro since I was off in all directions yesterday!

My name is Jen and I live in Toronto though I am originally from a small town to the southwest of the city.  I come from a running background - i've done 4 marathons and a sprinkling of other distances over the last four years. Tri is new to me but I went with my boyfriend to Ironman Canada in 2007 (he did it) and I thought it looked awesome. And i thought thatI could do this tri thing - all I had to do was learn to swim!! LOL! So i am still learning but i did my first 'try a tri' or mini sprint a couple of weeks ago and I am training hard to be able to do a sprint and an olympic by the end of summer!!

So the bike challenge fits right in with my tri training - and it keeps me focused on the bike since I love to run and my weakest is the swim!

I'll be doing stage 2 of my challenge after work today!

How is everyone else doing?

Is you commute long enough to count as two stages?

Hey guys, just got my second stage done. It was a simple trainer ride -- my plan said 60 mins easy - so that's what I did!

Can't imagine what the heat's like for you Sledge! We often get that muggy air this time of year but it's been unusually cool which is great for bike and run training!

Haven't seen too much high-profile goings on with our 'real' team counter parts in the TdF - any one else watching? Any favourites?

I got my first stage done yesterday!  I taught my Spinning class.  We are doing stages from this years Tour.  Last night was stage 7.

Sorry I haven't changed my avatar yet.   How can I put a clover on my chicky?

I'm enjoying watching the tour.  I love that our team has a Finn on it!  My family is from Finland.  Happy riding!

Mornin' all!  My plans for stage 2 yesterday got sidetracked by an eye doctor appointment (he dilated my eyes, and I couldn't see well enough to ride!).  So now I'm in make-up mode.   And of course, we're having lots of thunderstorms this week.  Good thing this is just the beginning of the challenge -- plenty of time to get caught up, right?

I do plan to change my avatar, but haven't gotten around to it yet!  I do like this one better than last year's cheese!

I'm sorry about the run into the suitcase. You were probably much kinder than I would have been.  I probably would have tossed it into traffic.  Ok, maybe not but I would have thought it twice.

Hello, team.

Late to the party, I know, but just wanted to quickly introduce myself.

Triathlete for 5+ years now, built on a running background. Did some swimming on summer teams as a kid, but totally freaked out in open water. I'm okay now. So, now I can get through the first leg of the races, I have set and met a few goals, including IMFL last year. It was awesome!

Anyway, I love challenges. Not only are they motivating and fun, but they are also an excellent way to get to know lots of other people on BT. I am a huge Tour fan, so this challenge was a no brainer.

(Actually, apparently, I am a sports addict. To wit: on Sunday, watched Wimbledon, Hy-Vee Triathlon, golf, beach volleyball, and le Tour.)

My goal for this challenge is 200 miles (have no idea how many "stages" that will take), and I've already logged 30+. I'll add to that tomorrow and Friday...and then I have a race on Sunday. Should be almost halfway by then.

Allez, allez!

Stage 3 is done. I twisted my ankle playing socer with my daughter the other day. Today was a swim/run on the calendar.  Instead I swam and then biked watch the TdF.  Good stuff.  Stage 3 in the bag.

Take care of that ankle! ouch!

I should be getting Stage 3 in tonight.  Even though It's nice outside i'll probably keep to trainer and watch the tour.  I was at my desk watching the results come in on the website.  It was pretty cool! :D
