Since I'm still very new to all this and my first Tri is in April, I'm currently working on my weakest discipline - running. Therefore I've put down 13 running sessions (which is the exact amount my plan calls for and will make sure I don't miss any) and 12 strength sessions. Completed my first run today even though it was raining as I didn't want to let the team down on the very first day! Way to go! My first planned session is tomorrow. |

I've taken close to a year off from competition after hitting a major burnout in 2008, when I did my first half ironman in August and then went right into marathon training, doing the Goofy Challenge (1/2 marathon Saturday, full marathon Sunday) in January of this year. I think I've finally gotten my fitness mojo back and I'm ready to hit the ground running...literally. I've done a few challenges in the past and they were great motivators, and I'm looking forward to an inspiring month. I feel like I'm starting as a couch potato, so this challenge will be good for me in terms of simply logging miles and pool meters, without judging myself on time. Thank you for your comment. People say Ironman doesn't change you; they lied. I would LOVE to share and answer any questions you may have. I have a lot of secrets and advice so just let me know and we will catch up! I will be at the finish line and around the course all day to cheer you on and sign up for 2011. |
