I haven't had cable since about 1996 and every time I see what's showing from someone else's TV it reminds me why I really don't need to watch what they're showing.

Turn the TV off and go play

I don't recall exactly what was on (Why I can't remember product name)  Probably during one of those shows about hoarding.

As an aside,  Best show on tv now is Dexter on Showtime.

freckle face - 2010-06-30 3:39 PM So do you also have a problem with the sitcoms that show binge drinking, sleeping around, drug use, low moral choices all around....? Does watching a specific television show with fat/skinny/addicted character mean that you are perpetuating that lifestyle?

Does me watching It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia mean that I support becoming a crackhead to get welfare, or eating cat food to sleep through the night, or stalking waitresses?

I'd love to know which shows you watch, to see which lifestyles you agree with perpetuating.

If you didn't get the sarcasm, I am SURE you aren't railing against other shows that don't show all the consequences of whatever actions the skinny characters take.

So what is it about fat people that bothers you, exactly?

In a word: yes. You are shallow.

I was trying to say yes you are shallow...with examples, but you nailed it.

I have no issue with showing stupid behaviours on tv BUT the ads for the show HUGE go way beyond that - it is clearly a show to help accept obesity - and I think that is just wrong.

Sorry . . .  but this is the quote of the week:

"i watch true blood on sundays with my mom as family time"

I always thought the orgy scenes could be real bonding moments.

Hmmm..... seems to do exactly the opposite of what the OP was saying.  The show they are reffering to seems to glorify fat kids going to fat camp to lose weight.
