Walking up to a drop-off. I can free-climb just about anything no problem, but walking on unsupported observation decks, glass-bottomed bridges, etc., just make me drop to my knees and crawl up to them. It's like I need three points of contact to feel like I'm not going to pitch over the edge.

Clowns.  But really how rational is it for someone to dress up in bright colored clothes, a huge fuzzy wig, small hat, with WAY too make up on, oh and a big red nose thing?

So my fear of clowns is not irrational since they are not rational.

or something like that...

Revolving doors. I don’t know if I was ever caught in one as a kid or what, but I hate going through them. I’m always afraid that I’m going to get crushed.
Also, high dives. I went up on a high dive last summer for the first time since I was a kid. It was a lot scarier than I expected it to be. Won’t be doing that again. No thanks.

Is this another one of those pizza euphamisms??

haha I thought that was shooting pool with a rope but OK, I can see having a toothpick as being a big small fear as well.

Driving over big bridges.  I'm OK if someone else is doing the driving, but start to panic if I'm driving.

Long escalators.  Going down is a lot worse than going up, but recently I was on the Woodley Park Metro escalator, in  DC, and my heart was racing just riding up that thing.  On the way back home, we took the elevator instead.

When I was little I always had two odd but scary dreams.

One was having a bridge collapse as I drove or rode over it.  The other was jumping into a huge pool filled with styrafoam that squeaked as you moved.  AHHHHHH!  Hate both!

My dog has this. Just will NOT walk over them.

My dog has this, too!!! Must be a dog thing. He's a pug, maybe a small dog thing?

Jake could by no stretch of the imagination be called "small". He's a greyhound/golden lab mix -- height of the grey, tail and fur of the lab...

Previous dog (boxer/beagle mix) had the same thing, so I think it's just a dog thing.

Is that a fear, or just an aversion?

Spoiled food. There's nothing worse than opening up a container from your fridge that is unrecognizable. I clean my fridge out every single weekend before I go grocery shopping to avoid this from happening.

Driving over level crossings....
Even though, I know how the system works, and that trains are designed to automatically stop at least 2 signal blocks  back, etc. I still dont like driving over level crossings, I tend to slow down to give the car ahead chance to go, then smack the accelerator....
