started moving into our new house last weekend. Well actually started doing projects in it I should say. My wife's parents, who I have always thought were awesome, proved it again last weekend by driving 3 hours to help us with projects for 2.5 days. between the four of us we - cleaned, put up paint splotches to test colors, started painting several rooms (I am a master with Spackle at this point.), installed lighting throughout the house (10 fixtures in total and all but 3 of them were brand new and not replacement fixtures for old/ugly ones - it helps that my father in law is a master electrician Smile

We proceeded to paint more and installed several new plumbing fixtures and some pipes. Then for a really good time we started pulling out large beds of Ivey in the front yard! It will be interesting to see what we can accomplish this weekend! (did I also mention we are hosting Thanksgiving at our new place this year - talk about a time Crunch!)

On top of that I got my new adjustable height work station at my job so I have spent the week being able to stand up at my desk and work all day which has been really nice.

I really love this thread and i have been away from it for some time

Let's see, it's lovely and quiet but there are always good things

- i work with a great team and we're having fun planning some pumpkin carving and halloween decorating (it's awesome to work with such great people)

- my husband bought my own bottle of wine and labelled it just for me (because i usually get a glass and then he finishes the rest)

- I got to hang out with my sister and her fiance last night which I don't get to do often enough.  It's nice to see her 'just because' :D

It has been a rough week, but I got an injection at the pain clinic yesterday and I was able to bend down to tie my shoes this morning without being in pain.

So nice to see the good happening in so many lives. Congrats Dave on the move to a new job, it sounds like you will really enjoy it.

1) I finished my second race on Sunday, a bit longer in distance than the first. What a learning experience.
2) I began run training for a 1/2 Mary in November. Hopefully I can finally beat my sister.
3) Work has been a drag, but the large scale project that has been ongoing is coming to a close soon.
4) I finished rescreening my parents porch. It came out good, and they were both happy.
5) I ran with my wife for the first time ever. Family really does mean everything.

* We're signed up to do the Dawn of the Dead Dash on Monday... Should be fun!

* Painted and installed the rear tire hugger on my motorcycle, and cut the tool box. Really cleaned up that area.

* Did the trail race on Sunday with no problems.

* Altra Lone Peaks hit store shelves this week... I just need to get my hands on them!

* Lunch with my wife today!

- Got to catalog some amazing ladies hats at my volunteer gig this past weekend, and work with some awesome volunteers.

- Survived another week.

- Change in tax law means that my employer will now deduct my local taxes for me out of my check, rather than me having to scramble to get all the stubs together and do the calculations and then run the checks up to the borough building during their really restricted hours. It sounds silly, but having my wage and school taxes taken out a few bucks at a time is actually really beneficial to my husband and I, rather than trying to write a bunch of tax checks every quarter. It just makes it more manageable for us to budget and takes away a bit of stress.

- I'm going to an awesome conference at the end of this week in Houston. I've never been there, but I'm excited to network, see some new museums, learn stuff, and get away a bit. It's going to be *awesome*.

We brought a new family member home today...

We've been home for an hour and at first he didn't notice the cats...at all...and then one of them got on the floor and he reacted a bit...so he is back on leash.

The Boys at the Beach (Jake is trying to get out of his harness...)

Dingo?!?!

He is yet to be named...he is supposed to be an Australian Cattle Dog mix...the K9 boys have been getting along very well!!  Lets hope things calm down with the inter species relations...

We have a new kitty.  Unable to re-size for some reason, so here is a link.  He is a Maine Coon, any cat names would be appreciated, since I am drawing a blank.  He is enjoying the warmth from the desk lamp.

Calm, cool, and collected.  The look on his face makes him look like a little tough guy.
