Subject: RE: Team New England

I reviewed my training plan to estimate my challenge number and then I reviewed my logs since June. My highest swim month had just under 11000 yds in September. My swims often get shortened due to family stuff that makes my time at the pool limited or getting to the pool late. I want a goal that stretches me, but one that is realistic. After participating in many challenges in the past, I have seen teams burn in defeat because members were overly optimistic in setting goals. So my goal for December is 13,500 yards.

My dream perfect world goal is to hit 15-17K yards (almost 10 miles!), but that would mean no sick kids, husband traveling, no illness, no missed workouts, no closed unexpected pool issues, no holiday parties interferring with workouts so I'm opting for a realistic but hard goal to reach.

Just saw on a post from Renee (re: terms/conditions) that Team New England's name is the New England Yanks.

BOO. I thought New England Pooltriots was a good name. For that reason, I shall withdraw myself from the team...

Seriously, it appears that my personal and work schedule will have me traveling much too much to commit anything to the team - I'd be more of a liability than an asset.

SWIM KICK and PULL to #1! I have faith in ALL 'A YOUS.

dldrach - welcome! So there are people in Vermont after all!

TAGP - Sorry to see you go.

I need everyone's yardage goal by tomorrow (Tuesday).  I'm in for 25,000 yards since I won't have access to my pool between 12/24 and 12/31. Thanks!

I'm in, if I can be on this team. I know that NY isn't part of N.E. but it's close and i'm a Bostonian by birth.

Goal: 22250 yards

Can we call the team the New England Pooltriots?

NY is considered part of the New England Region according to USAT.  So that's why I picked to join NE. Besides I went to prep school in Massachusetts, and college in Vermont.  I like the name, New England Pooltriots.

New England Yanks???? Ugh, reminds me of the NY Yankees too much!  Despite the fact that I live deep in the heart of NY Yankee territory, I'm a Red Sox fan!

Put me down for 12,000 yards.

Exactly! The only people I'll let call me a Yankee are Mainers. And only real Mainers. None of those "My parents lived in Maine for 40 years before I was born so I'm almost a native" folks.

I left a PM for Huskyboy. I am in if it is not too late. 20,000 yards for December. And if I am too late, oh well, I am still going to go for 20,000 yards. Happy swimming

Could someone make a little box of all our team members we can cut and paste to our training logs with the links to everyone's training logs? It makes it much easier to check in and encourage everyone. On my log there is a box from a weight loss challenge I was in...if someone wants to know what I mean...team Cranberry. How about a list with all the participants and their goals too?

I know...lots of asking and not much doing. My computer skills are lacking and I'm sick...cough...cough...thankfully you can't get my germs via the internet..you don't want them.

Get swimming everyone...we need to wow the rest of the world with our swimming.
