I've figured it out, don't let that slow cadence fool you, he's pushing a bigger gear, thus has a greater overall speed.

if you look closely, every time "he" moves, there is a reddish glow that emanates from "his" body. (actually, it kinda reminds me of the dirt that comes off of pigpen from Charlie Brown cartoons)

That's his aura. And yours has a little blue halo. I'm telling you, these things are spiritual!

Where's a pic of the real slug?  In the real life pic they are actually pretty cute little fellers- they're all furry and the least bit sluggish looking.

Thanks- they're so goffy looking that they're cute!  I saw on that website they have alpacia ranches.  I can coordinate a BT field trip to one if anyone is interested.  How fun would that be??
