I was totally going to bash you for that comparison, but then I realized that they both can only play with one ball at a time, so I guess it's legit. |

Member ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() By the way, I keep seeing people recommending Masters to improve my swim -- does it work just watching on TV, or do I need to travel to Augusta? |

Champion ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Being a Georgia Tech guy, it's difficult not to root for Stewart Cink or Matt Kuchar....however... Woods, Westwood, and Dustin Johnson will be your podium, with Bubba and Phil someplace top-10, along with Jim Furyk. Rory makes the cut but doesn't contend. And for whatever reason, KJ Choi always seems to play well in majors. Pencil him as top-10 as well. Don't see a dark horse this year... |

Expert ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Thankfully the boss is on vacation this week, so I have taken it upon myself to video stream the Masters while at work today & tomorrow. Marc Leishman is thru 15 and the leader at -5. The Masters website AND the smartphone app are so nice. They work like a charm and provide HD streaming perfectly. Augusta doesn't skimp on anything! |

![]() Other than Phil, Bubba, and Stricker struggling early on, seems like a lot of the big guns have at least got off to an OK start. Hoping for a really crowded leaderboard going into Saturday. Everyone's gotta root for Freddy Couples. |

Veteran ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() I love seeing Fred up near the top. I don't see him winning it, but a T10 for him, with his back right now, is like a victory. Also psyched to see Rickie Fowler up there. No matter what you think of him off the course and how he dresses and all that, his success could be huge for the sport over the next 10 years to get youth into the game. Sergio up there too, you can't tell me you don't pull for that guy, although watching him and all his ticks on Sunday afternoon could make for a long day. Can't wait for the weekend so I can actually sit down and watch some of this thing. |

Expert ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Dustin Johnson right up there & I am really pulling for him after that whole sand trap debacle at the PGA tourney a few years ago at Whistling Straits. |

Veteran ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Him and Couples in the final 2 on Sunday would be the most laid back pairing ever. I'd like to see DJ do well too, seems like a good dude. |

![]() DJ limped home. Just amazing how things can be going so good, then the course just bites back hard. Just ask Rory. Kind of explains why Tiger plays so conservative on this course when it comes to shooting at the pins. Really wanted to see the Chinese kid make the cut, but I think he's already become a national hero. When I first heard he would be playing, I thought he'd be lucky to finish Friday at +20. LOTS of big names within 5 shots right now. Should be an exciting weekend. |

The shot was so good it hit the stick and caromed straight back into the water. That's a 2 stroke difference...and he stuck the penalty shot too. Terrible luck there. This thing is still wide open going into Saturday. Tons of names under par. I can't imagine Couples will stay up there till the end, but wouldn't that be a great story if he did? Love this tournament. |

Even more than we thought! Two-stroke penalty assessed this morning. Lots of people are calling on Tiger to DQ himself, and I have to say I agree (draconian though it may be). There's a long precedent of golfers being DQ'd for signing an incorrect scorecard in similar situations. Imagine if he comes back and wins the tournament now -- facing accusations of favorable treatment from officials -- really not pretty. He's already tainted his personal life and image -- tainting his professional accomplishments would not be a great addition to the mix. You can already picture the headlines... "Cheats at home, cheats at work!" (Who woulda thought that the rules officials would be the ones in the spotlight??) |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Tournament is now a complete farce. Anyone else would have been DQ'd but Tiger kept in for the TV companies and sponsors. I won't be watching another second of it now, which is handy as I should be sleeping anyway! |

No, actually you are incorrect. Read the link Josh just posted. The incident was reviewed when Tiger was on the 18th. It was determined at that time Tiger's drop was legal. It wasn't until after Tiger signed his scorecard and had his post-round interview that the penalty was assessed. I'm going to go out on a limb here and assume you are probably not a Tiger Woods fan. Hey, it's a free country. But if you're going to spout off about the Masters being a "complete farce," next time double-check your facts. |

This is for when additional information comes to light. Tiger admitted in his post round interview that he violated the rules and, if anything, this made the initial assessment too lenient. Pointless argument, the tournament is in the US, it's Tiger, it's the Masters and the major sponsors and TV companies are American. He could smack the referee round the head with a 9 iron and get a one shot penalty. Made all the more ridiculous by the Chinese kid being penalised for slow play and Tiger's reaction being 'rules are rules'. Watching the post round analysis there wasn't an expert on the planet who could see how they could avoid DQ'ing him. I'm a great lover of sport and I think Tiger is one of the all time great sportsmen but he shouldn't get special treatment |

Let's just ignore his post match interview and the opinion of every single expert since until they found and twisted this little get out. I like you're last sentence, that told me. |

What experts are you talking about? Have you read any articles today? I've read 3 which stand by the decision to penalize Tiger for the drop. He thought he took a legal drop. The rules official said it was proper. He then signed the card based on that information. How on earth do you say the player needs to be DQ'd for an infraction he had no idea he committed? Yes, again, I say double-check your facts. |

Yes, again, I say double-check your facts. Ah I see, well if you can get away with anything you like as long as you don't know you've committed an infraction then that's all well and good. However, ignorance is no defence. He moved his ball back to a more advantageous spot so he could land his ball a couple of yards short. He admitted that in the post match interview. That's a DQ. I think your obsession with me checking 'facts' is quite ironic given the amount of subjectivity that has been applied to this situation. Do you know what, it's the internet, we've both seen this type of conversation before, let's just agree that we both think differently. I've got my little rant out of the way and you get to watch your golf. No-one loses. |

Veteran ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() I am by no means a Tiger fan and actually hope he does not break Jack's record. However, I think the rulling was handled correctly. The scorecard was not incorrect at the time he signed it. I do believe that Tiger has too much respect for the game that if he knowingly broke a rule he would DQ himself. Having said that GO FREDDY!!!!! |

Tiger withdrawing? As if. Everyone knows tiger doesn't pull out on or off the golf course. |
