Veteran ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Hi, The endurance plan that is specific to MT. I was just wondering how this race has sold out before :-) Happy training! Alicia |

Expert ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() I could be wrong, but I think that this race sold out last year in Feb or March. Im on the fence as to what plan to use. I used Be Iron Fit for Ironman Florida but I really think it was too low on the bike volume. Im either gonna go with with the Plan here on BT or Matt Fizgerald Level 7 Ironman Plan. |

Thanks for any info! Alicia I'm not using any program, I'm just swimming, running and biking, with alot of core work and some weights mixed in. I did that for my past two IMs, so I'm sticking with that. Though, I would be interested to see what others are using. |

Expert ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() For this is Ironman #2 for me. I made the mistake for Ironman #1 by focusing tooooooooo much on long slow distance workouts, I had good endurance but all it taught me was to be tooooooo slooooow. This time around Im focusing on a 16 week 1/2 ironman plan in preperation for Quassy half and then follow a 12 week 1/2 ironman to Ironman bridge program. ...Gonna focus alot on tough workouts, nutrition and lots of hill work too. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Just about to punch the registration button but keep hearing about hills...I'm from VT...could they be worse? My sis-in-law has already registered and I need to get on it! |

Expert ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() I would sign up!!!!!!!!! I hear its not as tough as Lake Placid or Quassy! Plus being from New England = plenty of time to train on rollers and hills. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Done! I did it! I'm a nervous wreck but will trust the training plan process! I hear the village is already sold out for accommodations (I've heard this but not confirmed it); does anyone have suggestions for other options? |

I chose the Intermediate program in the book (they offer a just finish option, intermediate and competitive. I don't know if it's good or not but we will see! |

I hear the village is already sold out for accommodations (I've heard this but not confirmed it); does anyone have suggestions for other options? Congrats. You're going to love it. The hills aren't that bad. I booked a one bedroom at the Hilton two weeks ago and there were still rooms available then. But you can also get a condo slopeside from VRBO or Sunstar. But do it soon. Also they jack the prices for IM and have a 3 night minimum but your US$ goes farther these days up here ![]() This will be my second time at Tremblant and it's an easier bike than IM Canada. If you have a free weekend before come up and do a training loop. You can ride the course in its entirety on the extra wide shoulders and do the run. I stressed about it before my first time and found the training really helped. I also ended up changing my cassette from an 11-25 to 11-28 but don't worry the 28 is only needed on the final section near the village. |

Veteran ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Hi! I looked into the ironfit programs as I had the book already. They looked good. I have decided to go back to my prior coach who trains out local group. I think now there is less than 200 days! Happy training, Alicia |

I have not worked with a coach, but I do want to start doing master's swim so that coach can critique my technique (or lack thereof as the case may be LOL). |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Has anyone used Infinit for their nutrition on longer courses? I read so many people swear by it, that's all they use for the race. |
![]() ![]() |
Expert ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() I use Infinite ( GO FAR) all the time. It works great for me, I used it for long course races, totally cuts down on the need for gels. I ended up craving some solid foods too, so I ended up throwing a few clif bars in my special needs bag during the bike. Give it a try they have singe serving pouches, so you can sample a little of everything. |

Expert ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() I have used an Infinit custom blend on the bike for both of my last 2 IMs, and plan to use it for this one, as well. It is all I use on the bike (other than water), and I never feel hungry. On the run, I have a very sensitive stomach, and keep to water, salt, gel, broth, and eventually coke from the course. |

Thanks! Alicia I have never done this race or even ridden the course but, According to DOT Cycling in Canada, who puts out a bunch of Mont Tremblant course training videos, recommends a compact crank with 11x28 minimum cassette. Hope that helps. |

Expert ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Really quite group here. How is everyone's training going??? |
![]() ![]() |
Member![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() I'm around, but just really busy at work so I haven't had a lot of time to post here.... My training is ok - sort of half-empty ok. I spending alot of time traveling for work these days and as a result, any sort of regular training schedule is not happening for me. Having said that, I'm doing the best that I can. I'm controlling my diet better and getting as much training done as possible when I'm on the road. I'm feeling decent these days, and really look forward to the next few months as the weather cooperates more and I can get more training done. I should be ok in the swim and on the run, but my bike leg this year will be my weak spot - I just don't have enough time to ride this year. Oh well, can't wait for IMMT. How's your training going? |
